| “But grandpa†shouted Shakeira, “you always end the story there! What happens when you and grandma lead the Nzwa over the blacklands? How long does it take for the other people of Nyika to accept you?†Kaylub stared proudly at is blond haired, dark skinned granddaughter. “These parts of the story are not important†said Kaylub “What is important is that eventually the people of Nyika came to accept those with talents and animals as equals. And as the untalents accepted these, they also accepted to work in harmony with the earth. This meant that we helped heal the earth. This is why the passage to the red queen’s land is so accessible now.†Shakeira opened her eyes wider and stuck out her bottom lip in an effort to pout. “All right, all right†he laughingly conceded, “I will tell you those parts of the story when you are older. Your mother would skin me alive if I told you now. I promise to tell you the Journeying stories on you twelfth birthday. How does that sound?†“But that’s so long from now†complained Shakeira. “Trust me, it will go in the blink of an eye†|
