Isn't it the big easy over? and EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!! I love Fforde's nursery crime books ... and his thursday next series ... he's just great!
Haha I bought this book just last night! Good timing ;)
I knew it was easy over or over easy.
Basic premise of the story - who killed humpty? And I love the solution!
Lol sorry guys my bad ^.^;; [act]edits[/act]
Haha - I'm glad you guys approve :P Thank Firefall for the suggestion!
Or blame her :P either one. ;)
Like I said - if you've already read it, then feel free to post your discussion here - but yes :P give people like me two weeks to actually get my hands and read the book :P That way, you know, feel kind of a part of the discussion, as opposed to trawling through things people have already said. I mean, nothing wrong with that - but sometimes it's nice to be all at the same level ;)
Great idea. I'll have to see if I can get a copy of it to read. ;D
Yeah, i agree, it is a great idea. Will have to try and track down a copy.
EDIT> My uni library has it, so i'll get it soon. I've always wanted to be a part of a book club.
Also, kudos on the newletter (there's probably a thread about it too)
For everyone's information, this stickied thread will be for general questions, suggestions and the like, as well as to announce the book-of-the-month. A separate thread will be opened for book discussions :)
Perhaps, if we can, we should rename it to just Obernet Book Club.
Actually, I can't remember if you can do that on these boards, I haven't had the need to...
I'll see if i can.. lol. Guess it'll look a little neater on the thread list :)
Edit: There we go :D
Oh this sounds like a GREAT idea, although, what if you can't get your hands on the book... does that mean we'd have to buy it? hm im quite poor after going to Korea!
I can't join in for this book, but I'll be in for the next book. I always hated how uni sucked up my whole life, and therefore no reading and writing... but this will intro me to new books and get me reading and the best thing is discussing it. I've always wanted to join a book club!
GREAT IDEA GUYS!! :)
Don't worry if you cant get your hands on this book - and by all means, dont go spending money on our account ;P - there's always the next one :)
Just reminding everyone, one week until the first thread will be opened for book discussion :)
Gah I still haven't got a copy. The few bookstores I tried didn't have it :(
Have you tried your public library? Mine has a whole heap of copies. They seem to like Jasper Fforde there, actually. :P
None of my local libraries have it :|
fforde sounds familiar.... how many other books has he written????and what section do you think his books are in????young adult fiction or normal fiction???and should i be putting this post in a different thread???
Yay [act]dances[/act] my local library has this one :D [act]promptly orders it[/act] ;D
I've read that book! i loved it (from what i can remember), but i believe my mum stole it from me as i can't find it to reread it... ~:|
I meant to post this the other day, but just to let you know guys - we're going to be alternating between YA fiction and adult fiction each month, so January's book will be adult fiction, so that way we can try to cater to everyone. But if you've got suggestions of either let us know :)
