Hi guys,

This message is mainly for new users, who want to know how to become a member of a guild.

Guild signup on Obernewtyn.net is not compulsory, but if you do wish to join a guild and participate in the guild side of the community, you will need to chose one of our fine guilds to become a member of:

About Guilds in General
Info on the: Ashlings :: Dreamweavers :: Mystics :: Wanderers

You can chose your guild when you sign up to the site, by selecting the relevant guild from the drop-down list.

Should you not chose your guild on sign-up, and wish to join a guild later on, you will need to PM (private message) Elspeth. You can do that by clicking this link: PM Elspeth.

And she will add you to that guild.

Any questions or problems, please ask here :)

There seems to be a problem with guildleaders being absent for long periods of time and therefore not being able to help new people into guilds. Any way to help with this?

No probs; MoO is short for Master of Obernewtyn (in mini profile [act]points left[/act]), and they're Ariadne, Emerald, Mornirkirara, Tanya and myself :)

it's only a silly reason but the cheesecake is boring(rewards system thing)
The mystics crystals are better for actually keeping track of the competitions and stuff that you've been in. like the dreamweavers acorns, it's just easier to say O I want a golden acorn today, or I want a blue crystal, I 'm going to do something to earn a red crystal because there just so darn pretty. I'm rambling again.. sorry

Maybe we could modify our cheesecake system slightly to have different flavours :) Would you like to start a thread on the Ashlings board about it? I'm sure everyone there would have ideas a-plenty to expand the idea a bit

there are a list of members in each guild on each guild page (ie. go to about guilds, then click on one of the guilds, then there's a link saying guild members)- that might give you an approximation....saying that there's probably a difference between the guild lists and those that are actually active members...

Most guilds do a census every so often to clear their membership lists of all those Taken By Slavers (if you end up on this list it's easy to get off it again though!). There are of course always members who are lurkers or who are still around but very busy and unable to post (the final year of school is often a big one). The guilds, on the whole, usually have the same amount of members, but their member lists might look bigger depending on when they last had a census.

Hi, I didn't chose a guild and I followed a link onto here. Who do I contact if I want to join a guild? I read the text, but it said I should PM my relevant guildleader, but how do I PM people, as a matter of fact, what does PM mean? Sorry if this sounds stupid....

Hi fierie blaze - PM is a private message, that you can send to a person by clicking the little under their name or on their profile.

To PM the guildleader of the guild you want to join - click on the guild link above - then click on the Guildmistress'/Guildmaster's name, and you'll automatically be sent to a page to PM them. Just type that you want to join and send it :)

Oh thanks....Maruman showed me just today, so I guess I should be fine. Thanks though :) and yes, I've seemed to have worked out how to use the majority of the buttons underneath the reply area....like so.... ;D lol

I already replied to your pm xt ;) - so I'll just repeat what I sent - I'm pretty sure you need to be added manually for that, and I'm sure you'll be added shortly, as soon as Ari has a chance :)

Just a note, in case anyone misses it; if you don't select a guild to join on sign up, and want to join one afterwards, you'll need to PM Elspeth (me!) with your request now, not the current Guildmaster/mistress of the guild. This is to send all guild joining requests through the one account.
