Ive got this friend who looks like Elspeth. She has this perfect look about her, not to pretty and she has that scared look about her that I imagin Elspeth has when she looks at Rushton. I couldnt find a photo I wish I could coz shes perfect!!

Looking back through the thread :P I think I'm still a bit of a fan of for Carley Pope for my Elspeth - but perhaps mix of the two?

I don't really like Carly Pope for elspeth. Shes too modern. I think Rose Byrne would be amazing as Elspeth! She has the private anguish look that would suit Elspeth soo well!
I think of Elspeth with a longer face that is still quiet round and a fairly determined Jaw line it makes someone seem more remote. And her jet black hair looks amazing with her face that is pale and green eyes wow that would look good.
most of the pictures above look like people are involved with them they have friends Elspeth had friends but she felt her self separate from them.

Thats an interesting thought Dream Traveller. Though hair can always be dyed and contacts used for eye colour its hard to get the facial shape exactly as one imagines.
Last week in Lark Rise my Elspeth (playing Nan Carter) told some boy who had kissed her to "go practice on the pigs"!! Hehe, all I could think of was Rushton so I was laughing so much that I had to rewind to find out what came next.
I was re-watching Kingdom of Heaven last night, and I saw Eva Green playing Sibylla, and her clothing and being on horseback made me think of Elf riding through Sador. But I think she might look too old for Elf, but given the magic of films it could work.

I like Maz's image though I think she is bit short though I don't think of her as very tall not be tall myself...she is very pretty though. I think Arwen in Lord of the Rings is a good one but her face is too gentle.
I really think the second two pics of Phoebe Tonkin back there are like Elf. It is spooky how much Carly Pope looks so close to how people imagine Elspeth. I know someone who really reminds me of Elspeth too. Not just in the way she looks but in how she acts too. Her eyes are even green! Not as green as I imagine Elf's to be but still green. She'd even be the right age for Elspeth! The more I think about it the more perfect she sounds! ;P
ok this is going to sound really wierd, but when I was reading the first four books I always had this image of her in my head that I had just created, but then as I was reading TSK, I saw transformers half way through and then all of the sudden while reading, Elspeth morphed into Megan Fox!!! and now I cant go back to my old image, so Elspeth is now way hotter in my mind than she should be ha.
lol Hootenanny, that's okay. Ariel is way hotter in my mind than he should... wait, no he's supposed to be gorgeous XP
Anyway. Truth be told, I always considered Elf to be really pretty. I get the impression that she's quite gorgeous, but she doesn't see herself as such so it doesn't come through in her narration except in the way others react to her (i.e. Gilbert: I met you briefly one night and was heart broken when I thought you died... 'cause one night of conversation is enough to bring on a reaction that strong ::) )
Yeah I am with you Amashelle - she definately doesn't see herself the way others do...thats why when she gets dressed up on the rare occasion and sees herself in the mirror she is kinda shocked.

Yeah, it's the same with Glynna in the Legendsong. I wouldn't be surprised if they're both prettier than they realise, but they don't really look at themselves except when they're dressed up. I think that they both have a fairly low self-image, like many people - it takes fancy clothes and someone else's opinion to make them realise that they could be seen as being attractive. So yes, I see Elf as being pretty as well. :) I think my favourites so far are Carly Pope, Rose Byrne and Emily Browning...
Katie McGrath would make a brilliant Elspeth in my opinion. In the first photo really has Elf's mysterious look. Though I also Carley Pope is good too.
i dunno why but i imagined elspeth to look like selena gomez, because selena isnt overly beautiful and neither is elspeth because of the way she was brought up, but i think selena would fit nicely. along with ben barnes as rushton
I see so many older Elspeths but no young Elspeths. She's only 12 to 14 in the beginning of the series. Any youngsters look like Elspeth?
What about brown haired Anna-Sophia Robb?
