  I have found some images that I think suit the Obernewtyn area and parts of it the actual building. They are mostly different parts of different buildings. Feel free to comment!!
  
  This is Stirling Castle, Scotland.
  I know it doesn't show any turrets, but they could be around the other sides. I think this side could be near the vegetable garden perhaps?
  
  
  I don't know where this is located, but I found it and thought it would be really good for extra turrets and rooms.
  
  
  The underground passage in book one Rushton tells Elspeth to escape through?
  
  
  The hill that Obernewtyn is situated on. You can see the little road that leads to it. The castle is Dunnottar Castle Northern Scotland.
  
  
  The road that Elspeth took to Obernewtyn. It's all scary because it's at nighttime. This could also be near the valley or where they mine for whitestick.
  
  
  Another side of Obernewtyn. Perhaps near the entrance?
  
  
  Side of a wall could lead to the vegetable garden.
  
  
  Side of the mountain that leads into the valley.
  
  
  Some of the dry area closer to Obernewtyn. Perhaps near the farming areas and the vegetable patch. Close to the courtyards but further away enough to be isolated.
  
  
  I'll add some more later. I hope they're allright! I don't have some references, but I'm sure they're in Scotland!!

  One of the rooms In Obernewtyn. Not that big...but with an open window.
  
  
  A long hallway, perhaps leading to the dining hall? In Stirling Castle, Scotland.
  
  
  The Dinning Hall. Dunnottar Castle, Scotland

  Oo I like very much! And I'm pretty sure that somewhere, in the archives there were theories out that Obernewtyn is situated around that area.

  Thankyou. I quite like them and now I'm wishing I lived at Obernewtyn! The landscape is so beautiful. I'm finding more to add at the moment.

  I have some images of somewhere I thought of like Obernewtyn. So should I post in here OR create a new thread?
  
  I'll post this here for now then move it if necessary.
  
  I have always pictured Obernewtyn as looking like Penrhyn castle, just outside Bangor (North Wales. The county is known as Gwynedd!). I remember the first time I saw it. We had to walk up there, up the hill through the woods. It was being in the book as I came out of the wooded path and saw it.

  I really liked the third picture, as it gives it a more rugged look. They are all really nice.

  The Dinning Hall. Dunnottar Castle, pic is very close to how i visualise the kitchen/ dining area at Obernewtyn! the only differences are i imagine the windows a little smaller and some internal arches to make the shadows and alcoves
  
  Maz I love the castle pics (I want one!) the one showing the ivy covered parts looks very "obernewtynish to me!
  I found these on the net a place calle broughton castle
  This is what i imagine for the dining room
  and the overall look of the place works as Obernewtyn for me too

  Kaylan, those pics are awesome! Nice finds ;D I especially like the first castle pic. I've always imagined Obernewtyn to be more of a blockish shape, and not an overly fancy type of castle. I love the dining hall too!

  That's what I thought! The block shape! Because there have been so many extentions and stuff that it couldn't be perfectly sculptured. I think that's the beauty of Obernewtyn really.
  
  I love the roof of the dining room you chose Hannai!! And Maz, Penrhyn castle is gorgeous!!

  I imagined the landscape to be a lot like the Montana mountain ranges.
  
  Like this in the winter, behind Obernewtyn when they say that no one know what lies beyond them really. And i picture this as the end of farseekers with Elspeth and Galatha.
  
  But its also warm and friendly in the summer, and obernewtyn sits in a sort of valley between mountains
  
  
  I also think Kaylan's castle pictures are perfect for Obernewtyn :-"
