Ah! Foiled by a photobucket maintenance page! I can't wait to see your Dartmoor piccies when it's back up...
(I've always thought Dartmoor is dangerously close to Darthnor...I wonder if this correlation of places is intentional?)
nice photos maz, and I really like your first drawing! I particularly like the way you coloured it.. is that watercolour or photoshop? Can't wait to see more :D

I use Corel Painter. I have a graphics tablet (*hugs favourite gadget* I never use a mouse anymore...) so the end result using both of them together does look quite like a watercolour (especially since I am more experienced at using the watercolour mode so I favour it over the others).
aahh graphics tablet! I've wanted one of them for years! It really does look so much like a watercolour painting.. I have a bit of experience working in watercolour too and I honestly could not tell it was done with a program *is impressed*

I was wondering all last night wether that was water colour or computer generated - great job. I too have wanted a tablet but I also saw on TV one of those 3D arm things that they use for sculpting and thought oo oo I want one lol.
I find drawing on the computer freehand is really hard so i use the line tool to do most of the outline before I go and colour it in (like my dream monster :)). And the blur tool is my favourite.

quite often I sketch something out on paper then put it under the cover of the tablet (it has a see through protective cover) and then I can trace it onto the screen and colour using the effects. Or sometimes I start with a photo that I trace partially (using the same method) and develop the image from there using my imagination.
This drawing was all freehand on the computer though. It is quite hard at first, but after almost 2 years permanently using the tablet I am almost as good drawing freehand on the computer as I am just drawing freehand on paper (though perhaps I should say just as bad. :P The only kinds of drawing I could ever actually do was watercolours of flowers and art deco/art nouveau stylised drawings)
Maz that's great! Thank you so much for posting it :D
Are you going to do any more? :)
