1.Learning the lesson; it is known that the weapon machines (Beforetimer technology) caused the Great White. Little more is known of this event in the history – even though it is probably the greatest to have ever occurred. To ignore the destructive ability of the human mind and the willingness of humanity to destroy them in order to destroy others must be understood in order for an event of such magnitude to be avoided in the future.
We live in now, after the Great White, and obviously, we do not want that monstrous destruction to come upon our world again, so therefore, we are going to try to avoid it. Any weaponmachines found, including the ones from the herders will be destroyed to prevent the Great White from repeating itself. Problem is, that if we do bring back any “technology†and it happens to be secretively dangerous, it’s a problem. Someone figure out an argument for this! HELP!

2. Technological benefits to the greater community; Beforetimer technology has been discovered which provide valuable resources including medical treatment, food, water and shelter that could solve social issues within the Land.I really like this one, Arcana. It would be hard for the other team to refute/rebut it. The prevention of diseases/illnesses in the land could benefit from the re-advent/rediscovery of new cures, they would also bbenefit from vaccines and medical supplements, rather than relying on homeopathy, whitestick and herb lore.
one other thing....beforetimers needed technology! Medical care, phones etc. the misfits don't need it. as has been said they have farseeking and healers. they have coercer knights for security. In fact the misfits have a great deal more than the beforetimers did in the way of empathy and beastspeaking.

About the "technology" cleaning up the blacklands that I mentioned a little above. What if we used the same thing to power our mechanisms instead of using fuel or other non-renewable sources (I'm currently learning about the environment in English). We could use something bad for good, but of course, we need the knowledge of the beforetime to do this. Some other beforetime inventions would also benefit us. Such as the transport aspect of all this: cars, buses, aeroplanes or bikes (if you don’t like the confusion of these extremely modern transports).
Also another point, after re-reading some of the other arguments, I found that one argument is very strong and should be more formally discussed: learning from the past. That could mean a range of things, such as, learning from the books and other references of the past, learning from the mistakes of the past (the Great White) or maybe learning from people of the past, which is insanely impossible, though some people believe its possible. Some of the futuretellers or people who have true dreams may also learn from the past. So learning is a very big argument we have, all we have to do is round out some of the edges. If you don’t understand what I mean about edges, I’m basically saying to expand on the weak spots of our argument.
Here’s some of the “edges†of our argument: learning from the past:
- how do we learn, we have to find sources and references, this will be hard because of what extent would we go to, to find these resources? Dangers, problems or will a life be risked?
- What if we come across the wrong sorts of information, making us greedy for more or greedy for weaponmachines. What if there is something that tells us how to use the weaponmachines and makes us hungry to find them.
- What if the sources we find (above) get into the wrong hands as arcana said (was it arcana?)
- Destroying the sources that we tried so hard to find? It be a total waste, and I can’t see any tecknoguilder agreeing to it.
- As Schis said, we have to take risks to achieve, but are these risks really worth it? What if it costs the lives of all the people of the land? And if we do burn it wouldn’t there be more?
I know some of these arguments are really weak or are easily rebutted, but I want to help, so I try my best and this, unfortunately, is my best.
TSC said...To rebut that point you could bring up what happened in TSK with domick. Without the aid of PAVO and beforetime technology, Domick would not have survived long enough to tell Elspeth about Ariel's plot. Misfit powers were almost useless against such a powerful disease.
The other team have made a point with this. I think I said it above, as might have other people, but I thought I would put this up anyway:one other thing....beforetimers needed technology! Medical care, phones etc. the misfits don't need it. as has been said they have farseeking and healers. they have coercer knights for security. In fact the misfits have a great deal more than the beforetimers did in the way of empathy and beastspeaking.
