Ah, finally, I've found a place where people will listen to me talk about my dreams! It's great, because no one I know irl will listen to me talk about them...
I have reacurring "themes" in my dreams more often than the dream itself reaoccurs. Usually it's a place, a building, that I go to in my dreams that has the EXACT same "feel" to it that something in a past dream had. I remember my dreams really well, so I can recall this many many times.
Dor example...I was in this one dream where I was figthing someone on a huge glass/mirrored skyscraper in a city setting, and then maybe 2 or 3 months later, I had a dream where I was in a, like, japanese neighborhood picking out a house (you know the ones, where they are all really close but walled off from eachothers yard, and the houses all look the same?) and I got this FEELING, sorta like deja vu...but unlike deja vu, I KNOW that this setting was from the same "source" as the one on the skyscraper.
I think of it as like recycled thoughts. Oftentimes in real life when something is recycled, it appears nothing like the original at the end. Yet it was made with the same materials, and there is no denying they are like "sisters" in a way. Thats how it feels in my dreams.
I notice this a lot in my dreams. Does anyone else notice this?
I used to have a dream that literally recurred, with small elements changed. I'm in a ghosttown, western setting, kind of place...you know, tumbleweed and everything...I'm running through the town which is totally deserted except for me and the giant ball of candy chasing me. It is like huuuuge and rolling after me super fast. Sometimes, family members or friends have been crushed under it. But in the first time, there was just me and it. I keep running, under this arch which states "you are now leaving CANDYLAND" and it's in the same font and everything as the game board logo! But the town is nothing like the game's style at all. So I run and run, and eventually I reach a cliff. I look down, really far down, and there's a small, trickling river below. I look back...the ball is approaching. I decide to jump off, hoping to live. I almost immediately hit the water, and then I'm subsequently eaten alive by a piranaha. I see it's many many teeth all down it's throat and then I wake up, every time. It's such a weird dream to me, especially since I never really thought about vandyland, western films, or piranahas before that time. I had this dream a lot when I was younger though.
