So, basically, I fainted yesterday. Which was pretty cool (in retrospect, it really wasn't that great at the time) . It lasted all of about two seconds and as a result my 'dream' was rather short an uninteresting. However, I was still wondering if anyone else here had ever fainted and if we could perhaps experiences? There just seems to be some slight yet significant difference between fainting and sleeping.
So...yes...here is my short 'fainting dream';
Basically, my mind felt very warm - not
me, my
mind and it felt like it was swirling around in a vortex. And then I woke up.
Yes, boring I know, but I'm still getting vast enjoyment out of remembering it.
Has anyone else fainted? Did you dream while you were out?
yea mine was really strange. it was the only time i've ever fainted, and your right, its really weird! i woke up and it was all blurry, but i dreamt i was on one of those spinning things in a play ground. and i jumped of it and ran into this random cubby house thing, and i was then in my old house, next to my pond. and there were frogs in it, and i just remember them hopping and hopping. and when i woke up i remember someone being in my dream with me, but i just couldn't remember who it was lol.

I fainted once (and I never want to do it again :P )
I was there one second talking, the next I was waking up looking at a wood floor. I'd fallen off a stool, getting my leg wedged between the stool and the bench, and managed to smack my head on the tiles around the fireplace....not pleasant. Anyway, all I remember while I was out, was a kaleidoscope of random colours and images I couldn’t make out, and a garble of voices that sounded like they were all talking at once so I couldn’t make out anything. Then a sizzling noise as I came around. The sizzling/static noise is my indication that I'm close to fainting now :)
I went to have a blood test and when I saw all thhe blood they were taking I fainted, TWICE!! I can remember their were lots of bright colours and I think I was in a racing car :-/. The best thing was I got some jellybeans ;D

I have fainted quite a few times |:( ~:|
Most of the time I have no recollection of the time I was unconscious, just going from standing/sitting at one moment, to lying on the ground the next.
Although, when I went into anaphylactic shock, I fainted as the doctors were trying to stop the swelling/allow me to breathe again (I can tell you, suffocating, nearly dying, isn't fun), and I had the sensation of falling, and then it felt as if I was swimming, but was unable to reach the surface. When I finally did, was when I regained consciousness...

i've never fainted... which i consider rather strange.. i mean, i should have fainted a few times from loss of blood at least.... :P
don't get me wrong, i don't want to fain or anything, its just that i kind of find it strange that i didn't fain even when i lost about a litre of blood through my nose :P

That doesn't sound good, Helena! [act]grugs[/act] And grugs to all of you who have fainted - it really doesn't sound like fun, not surprisingly. :-/
I've nearly fainted once, and I've felt faint a couple of times. Never full on fainted though, so I haven't really seen anything.
The time I nearly fainted was pretty scary though. I was at the station walking along, and then suddenly my legs could hardly hold me up, my vision went sort of black and hazy round the edges, and there was this sort of whispering roar in my ears. I managed to stagger a couple of steps to a seat, where I sat with my head down, and after a few minutes I was okay. I was just lucky the seat was there!
I've felt faint when getting blood taken. It makes me feel lightheaded and the worst time I had to lie down, but the other incident was a very different sensation.
I've fainted several times, and I've never had a dream at the time.
I faint every time I donate blood, and sometimes I faint right before I'm about to throw up (gross, yes?).
I faited once at work - I'm not sure if faint is the right word, because I didn't lose consciousness entirely, I just became really warm and heavy all of a sudden and then just fell. Luckily someone caught me and took me to the sick room near-by.
I don't want to go through it again - I felt really shaky for the next 2 days ...

I've fainted quite a few times, usually for no reason at all :-/ I think the worst part is the lead up, with the weird vision, swirly patterns and that feeling you get in your head.
Once I was standing in my grandmothers front door having a conversation, blacked out, saw a lot of tessellated patterns (don't ask me why :P ) then woke up face down on the flagstone floor with a fractured cheek bone :|
And then once in primary school I kind of got "stuck" in the pre-fraint stage which left me without my sight for about 15 minutes. It was kind of like if you stare into something really bright and then close your eyes really tight, black with coloured blobs and swirls :-/
I remember feeling suddenly really sick one afternoon while i was walking to the train station. When I made it to the platform I was sweating and feeling like i needed to hurl and then my train arrived and I started to walk towards it and then my fingers started to go numb and my legs went heavy and i remember thinking oh crap, this is bad. Then the sound went away and i tried to turn (pretty much staggered - because at that point, i thought getting on the train was a bad idea), i was still holding my mobile (because I'd sort of realised by the lead up i should call someone) when everything went black and then a bit later someone was holding me up and the station people were telling me they would have called an ambulance if they didn't have to pay for it...
..So yeah, one of the weirdest, terrifying experiences i've ever had & hopefully the last time i'll ever faint.

I've fainted twice, in quick succession. I was at home because I was sick, and the only thing I'd been able to eat successfully all day was a pear. I was in the shower, and I was feeling all hot and disgusting, which I thought was just because I was sick. Next thing I know, I'm sitting on the shower floor leaning against the glass wall. My vision kept swirling and it took me a while to be able to stand up. I don't know how long I was out for, being alone in the shower. I finally stood up and turned the shower off. Then I opened the shower door and got out, and as I was closing the door, I fainted again against the door slamming it shut. I vaguely remember hearing the bang of the door, and then once again, I found myself on the ground leaning against the shower door. As soon as I came to the first time, my first thought was "eeewww, I'm sitting on the floor of the shower", and the second thought was "I wonder how much water I've wasted". After the second time, I couldn't be bothered drying myself, so I pulled some clothes on and went out to ask mum to dry my hair because I was incapable. :P
I've fainted a few times, actually. But I've never had a dream while I passed out (at least not that i can remember).
The first time was when I was at school (which is embarrassing :P ). I hadn't eaten much for dinner the night before, and I skipped breakfast in the morning because I was going to be late for school. Then I also skipped recess, because I forgot to eat (which seems to happen to me a lot :P ). Then I had a swimming lesson, and we had to do lots of relays and laps. (I am terrible at swimming, by the way). I stated feeling really sick and I felt like I was about to burst into tears. (Plus we had to do lots of freestyle, which I am terrible at, and I felt like i couldn't breathe). Then the fire alarm went off, and we all had to file out of the swimming pool in our wet bathers with only a towel (plus it was freezing outside). We were lining up outside the school and I just fainted. :P The next thing I knew i was lying on a bench with a teacher leaning over me - kind of embarrassing. |:(
The other time I was feeling really sick. I was cooking something in the oven - I can't remember what. I remember telling someone (might have been my brother) that I felt really dizzy, and they told me not to worry about it. Then the heat of the oven was making me feel like I was going to pass out, and I collapsed. I'm not sure if I actually blacked out - everything just went all blurry. Turns out i had the flu or something. :P
Then there was the time when I had a really bad stomach bug and I passed out on the bathroom floor. :P ... Not good. :-/
hmm.....that's very interesting that you dream when you faint! I have fainted only once and its just like a shut down of my muscles...except I can still hear whats going on around me. It's a very odd sensation. This happened to me when I hadn't had water all day and I was singing in the spring festival thing...we were on bleachers and I was on the top row. I remember feeling like I was going to throw up and thinking I should get off the bleachers, but I decided to keep singing. Then all of a sudden everything started spinning and things started to get dark very slowly until it was all black, and I remember thinking...oh crap...I should've gotten off earlier. Then I remember falling and this boy on the first row of bleachers look at me as I fell...and the last thing I saw was a teacher running towards me. I could not move at all but I could still think and hear everyone around me...I finally regained conciousness after a doctor in the crown made someone bring a waterbottle and pour water down my throat. It was a very odd sensation and I was very embarassed because I was lying on the floor in front of everyone for a couple of minutes unable to stand up still. But I did not have a dream, which is strange.
Oh and BlackBird! Your sensation of swimming and then coming to conciousness when you reached the surface of the water sounds kind of like how Isobelle Carmody describes diving into ones mind and surfacing back to conciousness for farseekers....perhaps you are one!!! haha! But that would make sense that we all do have similar abilities to these misfits, I mean Isobelle must have gotten the ideas from something she saw in life. It is odd though.
I've fainted a couple of times... Usually I feel like I've woken up again, which is bizarre anyway, but then I find that I am trapped in a cage suspended between oak trees. The key to my cage is hanging on a branch just out of my reach, but if I start to swing the cage, eventually I can get hold of it. A little like BB's reaching the surface, once I've opened the cage and begin to climb out, I start to regain consciousness...
I'm glad some others here have had strange fainting experiences coz everyone I have asked about it in RL has said they don't experience anything...
Gosh! Fainting doesn't seem so fun (who am I kidding, of course not). I've never fainted, but my friend has.
Her family and I were watching her play in a tennis competition. The sun was blazing and everyone was admiring the tennis players for standing in the sun. After my friend did a serve, she sort of dropped her racket and was kneeling on the ground. Then she collapsed. Everyone was in panick. It was roughly half an hour before she woke up. She whispered to me that she had a weird dream. A warm feeling passed her head and for a while, she could see colours swirling around her. Then it all went black, then all of a sudden, it went bright. A figure was standing next to her, explaining where she was. A boy around her age with ice blue eyes and brown hair was saying that it was pretty cool how her mum ran to the court as fast as anything and checked on her. She asked what's so cool about that, and my friend said this was his exact words were, "It's cool that you have a loving family that cares for you. I never had one. What does it feel like to be loved?"
She asked why he never had a family, and he said because he died when he was a baby. My friend felt sorry and tried to comfort him, but she woke up.
We all had to cancel our plans and my friend had to forfeit her game. But from then on, she kept on drawing what she saw. And about the boy. But she wasn't a very good artist, so we always thought that the boy was something else. She always got mad, but she knows that were all worried for her.
Weird huh?
That is quite weird... Maybe your friend has some kind of medium-like powers... You know, conversing with the dead and all... how strange... :-?
Come to think of it Thandi, probably... I should try and contact her again since she moved away... :-?
