Okay, so I like writing stories and I just wanted to post up a bit from something I never finished. Please let me know what you think!
The frost from the trees slowly melted away as the icy cold air finally gets a touch of the warmth, which was following the crack of dawn. Slowly, I trudged across the snowy field and finally came into view of what I was looking for – the wreckage that use to be my house. Why my parents choose to live in isolation was a curse and mystery all together. If I had neighbours, they could’ve told me if anyone escaped, if my parents were still alive, where they are, have they seen my brother… But unfortunately, that isn’t reality. Not my reality at least. In a distant, I heard rustling noises from the trees. I whipped around quickly and in an instant, a black shape came into view. The cold air dropped a few degrees as I stepped back a few paces. It was a boy around my age; he must be from the town close from here. It was too late to hide behind a tree or to run away, he was only a few metres away from me. He stopped a metre away from me and looked straight in the eye. An awkward silence filled the air as we stared at each other. “Er, can I help you?†I asked softly.
“You’re the girl who use to live in that house, right?†asked the boy in a husky voice.
I nodded in confirmation. He was beautiful, those hazel eyes which stared deeply into everything was unreadable. His messy brown hair merely brushed against his forehead when he nodded in sadness. His broad shoulders shrugged as he sighed.
“How do you know about this house?†I asked in curiosity.
“That’s not important,†he dismissed rudely.
“Then what is?†I asked in an irritated tone.
“To get you somewhere safe,†He said in a distractedly. “Now come before they find us.â€
“Who’s going to find us?†I asked worriedly.
“Us.†said a voice full of amusement and entertainment.
The boy whipped around in such amazing speed and grace that I didn’t notice the gun he was holding in his hands. I looked over his shoulder and gasped in shock and amused horror.
Hope you enjoyed it!

Interesting snippet. I hope the story ends well if you get around to finishing it.

Very nice imagery Shadowhunter :) Like Deb, I hope it ends well if you decide to finish it. I'd certainly be interested if you do :)
The start got me interested! :D I agree with the others, the imagery was very nice and the mood well set.
