I'm curious what your thoughts are regarding the meaning/role or connections between the Comet on Earth and the goings on in Keltor.
My feeling was always that the comet is directly linked to the Unykorn and the fact that as it approaches Earth, the Unraveller arrives to free the Unykorn on Keltor.
The comet is also historically seen as a sign of change.

I agree with Bibliophile that the comet is definitely linked to the Unykorn. I've always felt that the comet will somehow have the same effect on earth on earth that the Unykorn is expected to on Keltor: help to start restoring hope in the hearts and minds of people. I remember Wind and the watcher discussing the Unykorn, and it was said that the Unykorn doesn't necessarily need to be freed, but that the idea or symbol of the Unykorn may be enough to restore hope. The same could be said for the comet...
I remember that discussion between Wind and The Watcher and Wind did say that the outcome isnt what was important- that what was important were intentions to do right (that was not his exact words of course but that was generally the gist of it).
I think that possibly when the unicorn is freed it will fly through the skies of all the worlds and on earth it will appear as a comet. Or at least perhaps it will shine brighly and all the people will look up at the sky and as it is too far away to be identified as a unicorn people will assume it is a comet.
Has anyone here seen a comet...? Perhaps it was really a unicorn from Keltor.... or freed from the void...
I think i'll go look at the sky and see if i can find any unicorn-shaped stars.
