This month's book is The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner. It's a Young Adult book and I really enjoyed it! Go get your hands on a copy and start discussing now! :)
Anyone? :( It really is a good book!!
I know my local group of libraries are a bit dodgy and only book 3 (like 4 copies of it, who does that?!), but I think most libraries will let you search for a wider net of libraries. For instance, if I go in and search "all" libraries, I can see there are 7 copies on shelves in Victoria. I can then place a hold on this book and they'll ship it to my library for free, and really quickly too!
So, I definitely recommend you go in and investigate, libraries are a great resource and free too!

I have read the Thief, as well as the next two books and I really enjoyed the first two,
I wasn't too fond of the third one though, because of the narrator change, and that's why I haven't gone hunting for the fourth book.
The Thief was a good book, I'll have to go through my bookshelf and find it :)

I've read all four, and I really liked them all! A Conspiracy of Kings, the fourth one, is sort of more about a different character to the first three, but he does come in to it.
The thing I really like about these books is that even for such short YA books, they still manage to spring surprises on you. For instance, (spoilers for The Thief!):
I kind of got that there was a bit more to Gen than met the eye, but I was not expecting him to be the Thief of Attolia! I did wonder a little tiny bit about why he'd been boasting in wine shops, but didn't get anywhere near to guessing that he'd wanted to get in to jail. I was more thinking "Wonder how else he was going to get out of jail if the Magus didn't take him..."

I'm waiting on a copy to arrive through the post! I couldn't find any in the stores or libraries near me, so I ordered it from the A&R online store for $10. Bargain! I promise I'll read it as soon as it arrives! ~:|

Okay, so I did finish reading this a while ago but I've been a little slack ~:|
It took me a really long time to get into this book. I don't think it really snagged my interest until about 150 pages in. After that though, things got more interesting and I was surprised by Gen being the Thief of Attolia. To start with, I thought the characters were rather two dimensional, expecially the two Uselesses (I can't remember their names... Sophos and the other one :P ) and everyone's actions and the dialogue was a bit flat, but it got better after I got into it! Getting into it just took a while... but I did enjoy the second half! :P
I've ordered the Thief from the Book Depository so I'll be able to put my two cents worth in soon. :)
