This month we're getting out there and trying something new, we're going to try reading manga! I've never read any before so don't feel like you can't join in this month if you haven't either- in fact, we encourage some horizon broadening!

READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ READ ... and then watch the anime!
Ouran is SOOOOOOOOOO cute - I challenge you to hate Tamaki!
For those who don't know - Ouran High School Host Club is about a girl called Haruhi, who is a scholarship student at a school for ridiculously rich people. After breaking a valuable vase, she's forced to become the slave of the Host Club (a group of guys who entertain girls by playing out their fantasies) ... who mistake her for a boy.
Despite the cliched set up, it's VERY funny and the characters are all great! And wait until you see Haruhi's dad - he's my favourite!
Oh hey, I'm re-reading this at the moment. I seriously LOVE this one. Anime and manga both.
I haven't read the manga (don't even think there is even anywhere near where I live where I could even get manga of any kind) but I've seen the anime. It was very sweet. I hear they are making a live action version of it.
There is a LIVE ACTION VERSION? I MUST SEE IT.
Oh yeah! strange thing about the live action is that Kyoya is kinda the de-facto hero in the series (or perhaps I think that because he's so awesome in the live action ...). but they DO make him WAYYYYYYYYYY more likeable ...

I haven't finished the anime yet, but I've read the manga and watched the live action (except for the movie - thanks Nef for letting us know its out!), and loved it! For some reason, whenever I came across the series I would avoid reading it, and I've no idea why anymore.
I love all the characters, but Kyouya has always been my favourite. He's just so calculating and observant, and yet he's sweet in his own way :)
It has been a goal of mine to buy the manga (slowly). I've go it up until volume 12 I think. My favourite manga out there. I can always do a re-read.
My favourite character (aside from Haruhi) is Mori, though he doesn't actually do much. Second is proabably Kaoru.
Mori is wonderful!
You know what's really weird - how wrong the twins act looks in the live action version - it's seriously creepy!
Oh, I have so much love for this manga!
I haven't actually read the whole series - I watched the anime first with a friend, then picked up the manga where the anime finished (I did that for Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Skip Beat! and Ao no Exorcist as well; I prefer not to read the same story twice, so I pick up the manga rather than watch the anime mostly).
It's cliche but well done otherwise and a wonderful read. I'd definitely recommend it. It's also finished, so there's no waiting for updates. My favourite characters would probably have to be Honey and Mori (I once saw a fantastic cosplay of them, with Honey done by a kid. It was amazing).
One of the gold glass shoujo mangas for sure.
