This should be an interesting book this month - considering it has recently been adapted into a film. Perhaps if you've seen the movie before reading the book, consider how similar the two are and see if there's anything they've done completely different.
Again, this is a more adult novel and any younger members who are unsure of whether they should read it, should really check with their parents first.
Enjoy!
I watched this film the other day at a party super late at night and fell asleep so I am happy to read the book :)
I've been meaning to read the book but I've already seen the movie too. I didn't think much of it to be honest. It wasn't bad but I didn't think it was as good as everyone I know seems to be raving about. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters--they just seemed kinda flat. (Also the main character's voice bugged me).
I hope the book is better.
I may plan to read the book soon, but I saw the movie today and I thought it was well done. Even better is that the author also directed the movie, so I think that's a positive in its favour. It's kind of sad and I didn't love or like it, but I thought it was well put together. I connected with the sentiment of being a bit of a misfit and not quite fitting in, and wanting to just not be noticed.
I got this book using a voucher so yay for my late start in this book discussion. About to start reading it tonight ;)
Is this the thread to discuss the book when we have finished it? I only have a small bit to go... Anyone else reading?
