I have decided that I want to make a trailer for Obernewtyn. I don't expect it to do anything but I would love to see one. I will be making it from scratch so I would like all of your input and ideas. I will be casting individuals to make individual roles, recording music (my husband is a very talented musician) and mixing it down myself. This is going to take a very long time (probably a year or more). I have already purchased a nice camera.
What I need from you!?
I would like your input and ideas for:
Lyrics to a potential song.
Characters I should cast.
Scenes that should be included.
Things that should be said.
etc.
Again, I am not expecting anything to ever come from this video, but it will be wonderful to finally see one.
Certainly sounds like an interesting idea. Good luck with the project, I can't wait to see what you come up with.
As for input, I'm not really sure. I'm guessing by Obernewtyn you are referring to the first book. I would start in the Silent Vale (where we see Elspeth fall in the water), and then maybe cut to Jes and Elspeth's goodbye, then a shot of the Councilcourt in Sutrium, then the arrival at Obernewtyn (with Maruman thrown in there somewhere). From there, you'd have to show Elspeth and Rushton (plus the Destroyer Pig)'s first meeting, and Ariel and his wolves in some manner. But after all that, maybe a quick shot of the Zebkrahan machine (or maybe the pit where the Sentinel is???), before fading to black?
I have no idea what a good song would be, but good luck!
How long are you thinking exactly? Will it be something short to fit in the time of a sing or extend longer?

My husband is amazing with timing and mixing music so it doesn't matter exactly matter the length but I wanted to get a lot of the good stuff in there so it would probably be about 3 minutes.
EDIT: Yes Min, I have seen yours and I love them. I saw one of them about 5 years ago before I was even on Obernet and before I even knew who you were. lol.
This video will be completely about the first book and I'm going to try to do everything from brand new film. TRY being the key word. lol

Wouldn't radioactive have been a bit too modern in timbre anyway though? :-/
In a way yes but the lyrics match perfectly. I had considered remaking it into a cover and maybe finding a female singer.
