This thread is for those who struggle to find time to write on a regular basis, and thus perhaps rely a bit too much on write-ins (if Victoria-based) to meet targets. It's for people who would benefit from having a place to record their progress and receive some encouragement from others.
Basically, all you have to do is nominate how much time you aim to allocate to writing per day, or whatever time frame suits you best. Once you've completed your session, check in here.
You can share your work (keeping in mind that this is a public thread), post the number of words you wrote, or just say "wrote for X minutes today". It's entirely up to you.
This is an awesome thread. I will start the ball rolling by saying that I would love to write at the very least 500 words per day. I will give myself 30 minutes in order to do so. If I go over of course that will be fine!
Wrote for 20 minutes today with 665 words! :)
Great start, Jossie! :)
I'd like to write for 10 minutes per weekday, and then 25 on the weekend days for a total of 100 minutes per week. Hopefully I'll be able to increase this in the future.
And I'll start on Monday :)
Nice! I generally always write every day anyway, but I'll try and up my word count to 1000 since I generally hit around 500 since that's how much I can pump out on the bus to work.
Good luck, guys! Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labours :).
I'm going to nominate 20 mins per day, which is the length of my train ride to work. Either one or the other shall be spent writing.
How do you guys manage to write on public transport? On your phones? I almost wish I didn't live so close to work and could spend time to write! I am trying the 'straight after work' writing thing which worked a couple of times so far.
Didn't write anything last night, but managed to fit 20 minutes of writing with 754 words. Yay. This takes me to 14,398 words in total! So close to my goal.
How did everyone else go today?
I finished off a chapter last night. Haven't written today yet, but I haven't had work so I tend to write in the early am hours when I don't.
I tend to keep my two hours of commuting for reading, but when I was writing one poem a day I would use my phone. But then, that seemed almost natural given the brevity of my poetry. I can't imagine ever using my phone for prose, so yes, how do the rest of you manage it?
In any case, I'm here to publicly shame myself for falling at the first hurdle: I won't be able to find even 10 minutes tonight for writing, given that it's well past 11pm and I still have a few things to do in preparation for work. :(
Better luck tomorrow, hopefully.
589 words tonight. It took some time to find some inspiration but got there eventually! I think actual writing time ended up being about 15 minutes! Yay!
I'm so tired, and need to read and sleep
717 yesterday. Spose I should start writing now.

I didn't do well at all tonight. I'm tired! Only 209 words - having a bit of a block :(
At least you still wrote, Jossie.
1350 tonight.

Well done on such great word amounts, Shonk!
I started skimming over the other novel I was working on last year... and it gave me a few scenes to go with, but still a lot of work to do in regards to sequencing and generally just working out what's happening/where it's going.
Tonight I wrote 656 words, which leaves me with under 6000 words left to reach my goal before the end of the month!
I'll try writing tomorrow, but am a little busy so might not happen.
2,248 over the last two days.
I should have gotten a lot more done since I had today off, but I sat and watched tv instead >_<
Good luck for tomorrow, Jossie.
So far, only about 350 words. I need something to write - the story i was working on is all snarled up and needs a rest ...
I like how you phrased it as "all snarled up", Nef!
Shonk, you always amaze me with how much you can write.
I couldn't write Friday night or last night in the end, and managed to write 704 words tonight.
Okay, my writing took place in scraps over the course of the day rather than in a single block, but I finished an 88-word piece of prose poetry; I'll call that a success :D
I'm gonna estimate 500 odd words and possibly a new character? I've definitely got a family dynamic I want to start with ( care of a terrible week at work ... love the family court, it always manages to lower my estimation of people) but it's a delicate business, and the character is quite ... passive. I need to work on her ... and have a set story plan.
I haven't written much in the last few days. Preparing for Chinese New Year... Happy Chinese New year! And to set the tone for the year to come, I have been writing, so hopefully this means I'll be doing more writing!
Today I wrote: 1,116 words
I'm getting close to my target for summer, with over a week left so I hope to continue to write every day to reach and hopefully surpass my target!

Oh, I've been writing every day still, but I've been forgetting to record my word counts. Whoops. Doesn't help that I'm writing across several different devices and in notebooks.
Today has been around 1800 words though.
I wasn't well over the weekend... zero words, but trying to get back into it. Today wrote 649 words.
I am so waiting for holidays when I can properly do a reread of my novel and reassess the other one I started this year. So far I've just been doing little bits of writing that don't relate to either novel, just to write something! Need to practice.
Well, you never know. Once you read over your other stuff you might find you'll be able to include some of your random bits somehow.
I didn't write on Sunday. Otherwise it's been everyday but again I've not been keeping track of how much l. I should probably get on that.
I intend to make another attempt at this (later) today. This is not an April Fool's! :P
