I want to throw an idea out there. I've been doing some super secret ashling research and i came across a website that does customised temporary tattoos. (They also do badges and magnets too). What do people think of pitching in with designs/mulah to have some made up for the ball? It could be something for the booth?
The minimum order for the tattoos is 200 at $1.17 per tattoo plus postage, but they get cheaper the more you buy.
This is just a brain fart, but i thought it might be fun to have twentyfamily tattoos at the ball.
That would be SUPER fun and awesome! We'd need to be able to agree on a design, but yes I'm up for pitching in for that.
I'm happy to do the ordering and put money towards it, but obviously no one person can cover the whole amount. What is really needed is people with design skills who can make pretty things on the computer.
The site is called makebadges.com.au and the site has a section where they have stored photoshop and illustrator templates for creating artwork for custom orders.

Deb's got a design that she just got done, which she's said she's happy to give us. Isobelle said it's very close to how she imagined it looking (sort of like a side-on version of what she pictured).
Deb, you said it was in .jpg format - is it large? We may need someone with illustrator (I only have photoshop, which isn't great for vector stuff) to make it larger if it doesn't fit into the template as is.
Edit: the other option re cost is that you could sell them at the booth - for cost, so you're not out of pocket, plus whatever $ extra you wanted to donate to the charity (there's two being chosen between currently, but might end up just supporting both).
That's amazing Deb! If it needs to be a different format, my mum (graphic design artist) can clean it up (remove the black smudges and stuff) and put it into an Illustrator or PDF file?

Might want a clean tattoo for a fake but the reason I really liked this was that it is not all that perfect. In Ashling Swallow tells Elspeth that they tattoo babies. A baby's little arm would not have enough room for something big that would look 'perfect' as they grow. It would change and stretch.
This sounds really good and it looks great! I am sure everyone would be more than happy to pay for it as it isn't much! I would certainly buy one or two! :)
I think it'd just need to be vectorised in order to be printed, Deb - it'd still have that quality.

No idea was that means Min, lol, but feel free to do whatever needs doing if we decide to use it.
I am so excited about tomorrow night! My only regret is that I didn't join Obernet sooner, because then I could be meeting old friends instead of new ones.
Does anyone know if there will be a secure area to put bags or lockers at the ball tongith?
What a great day and night! Everyone looked splendid. Thanks for everyone who helped out, especially Min who did so much!!!

The Ball was amazing. Had so much fun hanging out with Obernetters old and new. So excited to see the tattoo on sooooo many arms. Yay.
Still have mine, I bought a few extras so I can keep it on for a while. It was so great to finally meet a bunch of you in person. Hopefully I can make it to future gatherings of misfits as this was a blast!
Had such an awesome time at the launch! It was like a big school reunion, except that I wanted to talk to everybody there. It went so quickly!
Thank you everybody who put so much work into the booths - they looked so amazing and professional, and for manning them, telling fortunes, helping guests, helping clean up, and being so much fun. Love you all, you wonderful people. Can't wait to see everybody's photos.
I had heaps of fun there, meeting a lot of the older members that I've sort of known for years but never seen face to face!
The scavenger hunt was difficult and so much fun running around trying to get, and shout outs to the queue buddies, so much fun!
It'll be great to see pics! I forgot to get a pic of my outfit :(

Oh yeah, Can someone post in the forum/ facebook page when the photos from the event are up? I forgot to grab the name of the photographer to check myself.
The scavenger hunt was excellent, there were some real tricky ones, but it was great fun
It was so fantastic and it was great to meet some of you! I really shouldn't have had a late night the night before though... I was a zombie.
The events and booths and everything were so gorgeous! You guys did so good.

I didn't manage to introduce myself the other night until right at the end, having gotten caught in the queue of doom. The atmosphere was fantastic though, and I loved knowing we were all there for the same reason - a love of Obernewtyn.
I had a great time, and everyone's costumes were so amazing!
Thanks so much to everyone involved, the booths were so impressive!
While I had a great time, I regret that I did not find and talk to more Obernetters from my more active days; hopefully there will be other opportunities before too long :)
