As outlined in the Obernewtyn.net brochure that many of you may have received at The Red Queen Launch: Obernet came into being as a place where fans of the Obernewtyn Chronicles could wait together and gnaw over Elspeth’s quests to deactivate the weaponmachines and lead the beasts to the Freerunning Barud.
Elspeth's journey is over, but Obernewtyn.net still has a role to play. As well as remaining a place where Misfits everywhere can develop theories to answer the questions The Red Queen raised, we also have Isobelle's other books to discuss and the Beforetime Chronicles to look forward to.
Just as Obernewtyn evolved to take into account its citizens’ changing needs, we'd like Obernewtyn.net to evolve as well.
We'd like to become a place where new stories and journeys begin, and we want your feedback to help us expand and focus on our creative spaces.
So, in the coming months, we'd like to introduce some additions and changes to the site. One of the main ways we'd like to evolve is by reorganising our Art and Writing spaces:
- We'll create new artist and writer guilds and forums. These will be separate from our traditional guilds and work towards developing our Talents.
- We’ll create spaces for review and audience interaction.
- We’ll organise more frequent online and Real Life group meets – for example, write-ins, writers’ and artists’ circles, retreats, and similar events - you'll have the option of adding your city to your user profile, to be notified about events near your location.
Have an idea? Submit any feedback below, before we begin implementing changes, so you can help shape your community.
