This is a fantastic new show from ITV in the UK
Premise:
When strange anomalies in time start to appear all over England, Professor Cutter and his team have to help track down and capture all sorts of dangerous prehistoric creatures from Earth's distant past. Douglas Henshall plays Professor Nick Cutter, who is researching and lecturing in Evolutionary Zoology at Central Metropolitan University. Nick's wife Helen, also an Evolutionary Zoologist, has been mysteriously missing – presumed dead – for the last eight years.
He's assisted by Stephen Hart (James Murray), his Teaching Assistant, who is an environmentalist and very good tracker; Abby Maitland (Hannah Spearritt of S-Club fame), a zoo keeper who is very very knowledgeable about lizards; Connor Temple (Andrew Lee Potts), a student of Professor Cutters, who has compiled a comprehensive database of dinosaurs; Claudia Brown (Lucy Brown), a civil servant who was out investiating sightings of a strange creature when she met Professor Cutter; and James Lester (Ben Miller), Claudia's boss.
The pilot starts 8 years in the past, where you have a woman being chased through a supermarket carpark by a huge predatory reptile.
It then cuts to present day, where we eventually meet the rest of the cast, and a cute green flying lizard called 'Rex'.
The team go searching the local woods after a reporting sighting of a large animal ripping the side out of a truck at a local warehouse, and eventually stumble on the fracture in time, which is letting the dinosaurs through. Professor Cutter and an armed soldier, go through the fracture and find themselves millions of years in Earths past. They find the remains of a campsite, and the skeleton of a man, proving that someone has been there before them. They also find the Professors wifes camera....
It is well worth watching, and those of you that are downaloading British shows, look out for this one. Its being shown early saturday evenings, so you should be able to downlaod it after that.
