I don't want spoilers (though let's face it I will give in and read them) but can someone put a pic of the map?

Miky I've asked Thalia if she can hold off - the map does give some things away. This is so it doesnt get immediately indexed by google images and someone stumbles onto it inadvertantly. Isobelle's asked if we can keep spoilers to a minimum. I'm actually wondering if we should do something other than a spoiler thread this time...but I guess we'll see how we go...
Well, seeing as Min has asked so nicely, I will hold off on releasing the map. I will just say that it is totally awesome, and needed a double page spread in the larger Australian edition. Back to gloating by myself I suppose.... ;)
a thalia i am so mega jealous!!! perhaps you can just pm it to me?
Wouldn't I still need to upload it somewhere first? If we could figure out some way to manage it, that would be fine by me. ;-)

maybe as an attachment/ pdf file?? (i dont know much of computering) Ps i am so angry at being in america right now!
EDIT: perhaps you can pm me a description of the map. Yes I am that desperate. I am feeling very far away from home right now and the sending/ the thought of it coming out makes me so happy and less lonely.
Miky if you are that desperate for it, maybe contact Isobelle and ask if it's okay, first? But does it make you any happier to know that the majority of people are in the same boat as you?
Hey min, I have no idea how I would go about contacting isobelle, and wouldn't want to bother her with something so trivial. i am sorry for being so crazy about this. i guess being away from home/ the familiar is making me a bit obsessed with the ober chrons. I read them every night here. I shall officially zip my lips and wait with everyone else. Happy readings to all those lucky enough to have a copy.
I was going to come on and discuss - but I think I may hold off until more people have read it. All I can say is that I really can't wait for the next one now ...
You're finished Nef? I think I get what your Facebook post was about, then!
Immediate (non-spoilerish) thoughts after finishing:
1/ NEED MOAR.
2/ wait. There's only one book left. Sadface.

babble for the side bar...
Still don't see how everything is going to be sorted in one more book.

aghh!!!! (incoherent babbling for the side bar :p)
Ok - no structure yet to my thoughts, just incoherent ramblings...
I can't believe the ending was such a cliff hanger! I want more!
I was so sad re Rushton though - so unfair that all the others could go with Elspeth on the journey and not Rushton. Although it was a pleasant surprise that she wasn't all alone.
I'm still struggling with the ending though - do you think its a city completely untouched by the Great White? ie. still with all technology/computers etc? Something that previously used to be a testing facility? (The reference to Miriym (sp) sleeping made me think of the cryogenic sleeping tests that they were doing on the animals in that flashback).
agh! So excited! It was amazing! (and I also didn't spot any major errors like the last book re names switching etc - although I'm not great with picking that stuff up anyway). :)
/end incoherent babble! :rolling:

Yay, I'm so glad we can finally all start talking about it!! [act]excitement[/act]
(finished)I was utterly gobsmacked by the fact that she's got companions. And WHO they are. But I was thinking about it this morning, it's like, she's got someone who was introduced each book, with the exception of The Stone Key, and each person represents a part of the Land culture, in a way (if you count - gosh, I can't even say their names for fear of spoiling it...).
I am petrified about who she might have to lose out of that group.
Re the cliffhanger - this is one of the first things I was dying to discuss. Efari = robots, anybody? I agree with the cryo theory too. I have a hunch that we may be about to meet Jacob, and maybe even Hannah Jr, and they've been in stasis all this time. At least, I hope we get to meet them in the next one.
I also gotta say, I love how Elspeth/Rushton's relationship panned out. No more angst, and every time I read one of the old books and see him glaring at her I'm going to burst out laughing.
Last thing I'm going to squee about - Ceirwan. He's such a legend. I don't know why he stood out so much, but he was an unsung hero IMO.
Finished the book at about 4am this morning.......
So happy about Elf and Rushton :D was so scared when he glared at her the first time, but yeah - I will also probably laugh at him any time he glares at her in re-reads!
I was alittle disappointed that Elf left before Elii arrived, I wanted them to talk....
I am so glad that Dragon isn't afraid of Elf anymore!!!!!!!!!!! XD
Really surprised about Moss, though I am not sure why - he is made out to be disgusting, but that he would hurt Analivia like that is horrible!! I am really worried about what he might have done to Dragon, when he thought she was his sister :S
I am so afraid about which group members will die!! I don't want any of them to die!!!!!!!
Really REALLY hope that Rushton will be OK!!!
I just thought the 'efari' would be deformed beforetimers (the action of them shooting the - was it a tranquilizing dart?
SUCH a cliffhanger. Want mooooore.
surprised to hear about Stephen! Thought he had disappeared!
I am sure I will have more (more organised) thoughts about it later! So excited for 'The Red Queen' now!!!!!!!
Sidebar filler, ra ra ra!
Re the efari - if they're Beforetimers, how are they alive, what are they doing still there? It sounds like they've been patrolling the city (Pellmer?) for some time, and they have Miryum in stasis for some reason. The only thing I can think of that would be so...mindless, in the midst of a holocaust would be a machine programmed with some purpose it hasn't yet completed. Maybe there's another working INES in this city? And the fact the efari we saw briefly at the end was described as being in a shining suit, it sounds like a humanoid - shiny - robot (Elspeth wouldn't know how to describe a robot and if it was humanoid they'd just assume it was a person in a suit). Perhaps they were charged with keeping people safe while the world is poisoned and healing, and because Blacklands still exist, any human they come across they put into stasis?
Also this sort of takes a backseat to the rest of the book, but what about the dark angry being at the very beginning of the book? Elf's reason for not dreamtravelling on her own. What is that? Or, who? She talks of it being Ariel, but that he's sick so his mind has run to (even more) madness...but, I think it's Matthew. I think everything's Matthew, to be fair :P but they talk of Matthew being sick in an offhand way. Maybe he's fevered and trying to send Elspeth a message.
Really don't know what that beast is otherwise.
I wonder what Cassandra's key is (that Jacob has)? The thing Elf sees being built briefly in the Beforetime (featuring Cassy/the other talented girl)?
SO many questions...
-lalalala sidebar filler-
I think that the dream of Cassandra and younger Hannah made me think that they could be mutated beforetimers, because Cassandra said that they should feel sorry for them rather than afraid, but maybe that is two different things altogether! Cant wait to find out XD XD
I tend to just hope everything is Matthew, I MISS HIM! (well, I hope everything is him except the destroyer...that would be horrible!!!)
Sidebar filler - I READ IT NYER NYER!!
Still getting my head around it - I really have to go back and read the others to get back up to speed - I thought I still had a month to read the others.
Ok, I can't believe she ended it there - JUST THERE! I could not believe that they had been travelling and travelling and NOT GET THERE!
I totally understood that this book was more about the reality of the journey rather than it have as a vague future event. But I think this book was all about cutting the gordian knot of secrets that Elspeth has woven around her (OOOHH - my pun was not deliberate, but maybe Elspeth's name isn't a coincident ... this takes more thought ...) so there was a lot more explanation going on that I kept jumping over thinking "I know, I was THERE! You don't need to tell me that". It had a bittersweet feeling that has me a bit melancholy the next day.
Also MAJOR disappointment that the possibility of Louis' story being explained is fading. ESPECIALLY when Rushton and Elf went to his hut (not that that scene was a disappointment, but I was hoping there'd be a secret stash of books or something that Elf would find the next morning ...)
More later as I digest.
ok i have not read the book yet (i can't wait) but i just needed to ask this question.
i though that the sending was the last book in the series, but someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it was the second last one.
i'm confused - can someone please point me in the right dirrection : )
Oh holy of holies....I don't know if I can stop myself from reading these...I won't get to read the book till December.

I am not reading the spoilers properly but just scanning for mention of swallow/ if we find out his name. He was so absent from the stone key and I was sure he was going to be in it. but he's in this one... right? *gets the look of crazy in my eye*
If you are feeling the urge to read the spoilers - DON'T. I would rather take down my post than ruin what happens for you! Trust me, you WANT to be surprised.
I DO want to be surprised. I really do. 23 days is such a long time away. and then even longer to get it in america. I wish I was one of the lucky ones like Min who got a copy sent to her. or someone who had access to a library with it. Then again I have been enjoying re-reading in the wait. *watches clock* is time going really slowly for anyone else?
