I think I'm gonna have to reread the books before I'm able to think of questions . . . so now the question is: can I reread all these books in only 6 weeks? This'll be fun.
The only questions I can think of for now are the back story ones that I hope are covered in TRQ (but may not be due to irrelevancy), like:
- Dameon was the son of a councilman - which one/which region?
- Same question, but re Gavyn?
- Will we find out what happened to Henry, and Erin Druid, in TRQ?
Nothing very insightful or creative, but hey, it's a start.
I'd like to know whether Isobelle's intended ending for this series has changed over the years it's taken her to write the book. What you dream of when you're a child is often so different to what you dream of when you're an adult, and we know characters and situations have matured along with her, so I'm just wondering whether her ultimate endpoint has changed as well.
Second the change in endpoint question Marta. I was thinking the same thing, how has the series changed over the years in terms of the direction she was taking, because obviously the series expanded somewhat from her original idea. So did she just feel there was more detail to be added in, or did something change?
(terrible wording of a question)
And is there any significant that she regrets that she has written in the series (i.e. what would she really, really want to change)
Ooooooooo I have so many questions but how to order the thoughts in my head that are bouncing around?
I think I'm going to re-read the books too, not only to think of questions but to prepare for TRQ :D
I'm so exiting.
Too many questions, too little time! Eeeep. For the time being....here are a few things I'd love to know..
1. Does Rushton have special powers that rival Elspeths? I know the killing power is pretty much number one, however I think he has untapped Talent hidden away in that attractive noggin' of his yet unexplored.
2. Is there any Talent that can take you back in time? If so, can Elspeth go back in time (not just in dreams or anything) and actually go to the Reichler Clinic?
3. We know Ariel has a pretty good futuretelling ability. With that in mind, is there a possibility that Cassie left the signs for him, not Elspeth. Crazy as it might be, could Elspeth be the destroyer and Ariel the seeker?
4. Is there another 'Obernewtyn' across the Blacklands
5. Who the hell is Maruman?
I just re-read Obernewtyn and my questions are:
- What happened to the cook (Andra) and her daughter?
- What's Ariel's story prior to Obernewtyn? How did he end up at Obernewtyn and were there any events in his life which led him to be the way that he is?
I'm sure I'll have more questions as I re-read through the books.
my number one question is where the idea for Lud came from?
Whether it was completely made up or whether it was from an old document?
And if it was from an old document, what type? What did the word Lud have to do with it?
I've had this for years, my art teacher and I had a very big conversation about it.
To follow on Kay's question about Ariel:
If he was/is so good at getting into positions of power, did he go to Obernewtyn for some purpose, or was it a mere accident or slip up on his part?
I am interested in how old Angina and Miky are. In the books, it is always mentioned that they are 'little more than children'. This goes for many other characters. Also I've been wondering about the feud between Rosamunde and Elspeth. Is it really a rational argument? When and how did Matthew get to Obernewtyn?
Can we look forward to a shiny box set of the Obernewtyn Chronicles once The Red Queen has been in (standard) paperback for a while? :D

My main question is if Alexi is really Ariel's father. Isobelle states this in the one of the books in the American series. Always has me wondering.
Another one (from the Destroyer thread on the Theories board):
How did Marisa Seraphim know the location of the weaponmachines (to instruct the gypsies to carve them into the door, so that Elspeth could 'read' that was where Marisa had hidden the map in her diary)? And does that technically make her a good guy/someone who helps Elspeth on her Quest?
My question isn't deep at all. I'd like to know what the characters full names are. We have Elspeth Gordie, Rushton Seraphim and Brydda Llewellyn (and more) so what about Dameon, Matthew, and etc? And what is Swallow's actual name? :P
My questions are:
1. What is the connection between Maruman and Merimyn?
2. What is the extent of Lidgebaby's Talent? Did all Talented babies have the same effect on other Talents, or is Lidgebaby unique in that respect?
3. Can we get more of an insight into the EarthTemple and its Guardians? Does Dameon’s being an Asura have significance to the quest?

Is Llewellyn really Brydda's last name? Just reading Farseekers and Katlyn says he is 'using' that name???
Also what did Gilbert yell to Elspeth as the raft went under Tor?
Which beforetime continents do the continents in Obernewtyn match with?
Is Elspeth's telekinetic ability only an extension of her coercive skills or is it another talent?
Does anyone else in the Obernewtyn universe have telekinesis?
Did you ever consider writing a beast as a villain, rather than having them all be allies?
Vauny, the question about the beforetime continents has been one that had always intrigued me as well.
Ditto, actually. How often have I sat and tried to puzzle that piece out, now? A lot. Definitely a lot.
I've always wanted to ask what started Isobelle's journey with the Obernewtyn Chronicles? Like how did you come up with Character profiles for Elspeth, Mathew, Damien, Rushton and even Maruman? And where did the inspiration start for the actual plotline?
But what I really want to know is did you, as an author, think that you would make it this far and get this type of response from your readerr and why? Plus if you could provide some hints for those of aspiring to be authors, especially amazing ones like yourself, what would you tell them?
I also wondered how long after 'our' time the Beforetime is set, like when the Great White occurred.
As a reminder to ask: when, where etc is the Red Queen launch going to be, and how many tickets will Obernetters be able to get? :P

Master of Obernewtyn
When Isobelle first started writing Obernewtyn, how much of the small details that Elspeth mentions about her surroundings was Isobelle's own experiences or imagination?
This is probably way too late but I have a random question I have been dying to ask IC since the moment I opened Obernewtyn.....
"Have you ever read or been inspired by The Cloud Walker (©1973) by Edmund Cooper?"
It's a book my Dad read to me when I was a kid, about a dystopian society who worshipped/were ruled by the Luddite Church, who outlawed machines and just.... Yeah, a lot of curiously shared themes and I'd love to find out whether it's just one of those things, a coincidence, or whether there's something Futuretell-ish going on 😂
