Thanks guys! But Beth is definitely a better drawer than me, and I can't draw people. I'm mostly good at following step-by-step books, which is kinda cheating... ~:|

I don't think its cheating because the book isn't drawing the picture you are. Its just giving you tips. :) From what I've see you're a very talented drawer. :nods:
Don't worry Florashie, I do that too! I am great at drawing from a picture, but I suck at drawing from an image in my head. Generally, I can't even create a full blown image in my head that stays for more than 2 seconds. That and I get proportions all wrong otherwise. I don't see it as cheating, just as a different way of getting to the result I want than other people. Like taking a different road route I guess. We all take ifferent journeys to arrive at our destination!

:O that is so cool Helena! i love it! you should keep fiddling with your graphics tablet (whatever that is?) i am not a good drawer - that talent went to my sister- so i have nothing but opinions and compliments to bring to this thread :)
Love the idea Helena. The lines are a little shaky, so my suggestion is to draw at higher resolutions and use greater image sizes, that way when you shrink it down to a smaller size your lines will be nice and smooth and straight :)
Loving the pig in the Rushton drawing =P
Oh WOW, Sionainn. That's amazing.
Um, I have no idea about advice, but my partner (who is a kick-[censored] artist himself, as many from the meet in Melbourne last year might remember :P) suggested that for the wings, have a look at the textres on bat's wings for ideas. As for their heads, he's suggested to look at the artwork of the Pern novels - he handed me Dragonsinger and Dragonsong as examples. Not top copy them but to get texture / structure ideas. Hope it helps, can't wait to see the finished product!
Sionainn, I love the person in your picture! It is really detailed and fine, especially the hair.
8-|WOW That is such a good picture! I love the persons expression! Sorry i don't have much advice when it comes to drawing dragons but i think that maybe you should give it a snakes eye and put horns on its head.
Hey, thanks for the advice guys -- or in Min's case, thank your partner.
I need the Wyvern to look like a snake (this is an illustration from a book I'm writing so it has a particular design), so I think I'll have to get a lot of references of them before I continue.
I think I actually have that Graeme Base book floating around somewhere though, so I should probably go and see if I can dig it up.

First thought when i saw it: ohmigosh- don't touch the spindle! you'll sleep for a hundred years!
Second thought: oooohh.... pretty! :D
i think the hand you drew is amazing, Tonks! i only have one question... where did the other finger and a half go? :P
Haha, I have no idea, must've just been how my had was positioned at the time. Or more likely how I positioned it to save myself the trouble of drawing extra fingers. :P
Wow, that hand is really realistic! It's really good, Tonks.

[strike]HELP! Ok, does anyone have any experience with 3d Modeling and would be really kind and help me?
Well it's for a school Multimedia assignment and we're doing animations in 3ds Max, and I'm basically modeling and animating a white-out/correction tape/tip-ex. But I have absolutely no idea on how to model the actual tape of the white-out, and I'm kind of desperate since it's due in a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any advice? :P
It's sort of an arty thing so I though it'd be alright to ask here.[/strike]
Never mind ... all sorted :)
Hey Tonks, i just saw your hand and Narwhal picture. So good! The hand is super realistic, for some reason i really like the finger nailsXD! You aren't hopeless at drawing hands! Also the winged narwhal is so cute!:D
Hey Allira,
Wow your pic of Maruman is REALLY good! What program did you use? The eyes and fur are so realistic and i have to say that the moon really finishes the picture off perfectly.
That's a wonderful drawing Allira! The only way I can think to improve it is to pehaps add a few more highlights in the fine hairs in his fur - there are beautiful parts where it is wonderfully detailed but a few patches that have a sort of blurred look. And it would be lovely if you could work on the background - the solid colour detracts from the work a little. But other than that, it is amazing! The proportions and angle are done perfectly.
That's lovely! I like how the black lines fade into the tail.
