I'm not quite convinced on the piles of dust theory. Sorry Min. I still want to know what they do with the assumed bodies.
LOL, neither am I - I think I got it from watching Bad Wolf the other night :P
I think the bodies aren't that important, because they're just slaves being 'fed' to it. They'll do whatever they normally do with dead slaves, I dunno - dump them in the ocean?
And I do believe that Ariel would try to use Matthew to get in. But as you just said, whoever it is has to have the right code, or whatever it is, otherwise the world would have been destroyed long ago. I don't see why Matthew would be special like that.

That's where Elspeth comes into things. Have a read of my
Matty = Destroyer theroy here.
*has new question* If the Agyllians know the destroyer is male, then how come they don't know who it is??? Even if they had only seen, them, but didn't know their name, couldn't they have Sent the image to Elspeth, in case she recognised them, or just so she knew who to look for? ????

Maybe they do know who the Destroyer is. But for reasons of 'fate', or whatever (as we know the Agyllians are concerned with) they have to let Elspeth do it herself. Otherwise, why would they use her, and Maruman, the gypsies, etc? They need them to do the task, sure. But it's also been fated for a long time that this is what will happen.
Either that, or they're playing games with everyone.
