Here's some more poetry I had stashed away somewhere.
Blossoms
See the blossoms all around,
The daisies, tulips,
Sweet-scented roses.
Scents that pull and rip,
At all the things we thought we knew,
Take the time to breathe the air,
The air’s the same as what I share.
Love the world around so bright,
And you will find your evening light.
Dying Alone
Have you lost someone dear,
And been left alone in this world?
Then surely we know too clear,
What it’s like to be unfurled.
Everything undone,
And promises mean nothing anymore,
And it seems so wrong to have such fun,
As you used to do before.
It’s like you’re dying alone,
And there’s nothing on the bone,
That was once full of life,
But all that’s left is strife.
You feel the pain,
So raw with no gain,
As you think of dying alone.
Truth Be Told
The truth is something mighty,
The greatest thing ever heard,
Was the truth that Jesus died.
We have all lied, and hated,
At some point in our lives,
And yet still this perfect,
Pure spotless lamb,
Became one of us, a man,
And let the Romans nail him,
To a wooden cross of death.
This was the truth: he loved us,
So much he died a thousand deaths.
So have you ever thought of what it means,
To be alive again?
I’ll tell you this- is means you gain,
Something called eternal life,
A life that comes after death,
When all is as it should be,
With no pain or suffering.
We all know feelings to well,
Often rather bad ones,
And yet in life in Christ,
Joy can be found,
For Christ was bound,
To death he was,
And yet he rose again,
Conquered death, and so can you.
Just embrace the truth and live it,
And life will be worth it.
This one's about my first boyfriend... from Year 2, to yr 5/6.
How Was I to Know
You never said ‘It’s over’
You simply left me dead,
I loved you since you asked me,
To join as one with you.
And yet you just left me,
No answer to my question.
Imagine how I felt,
When our friend told me of,
The newest crush you had.
Imagine my anger,
That you would prefer,
A girl who can’t stop talking,
Whose work is never done,
Over me the thoughtful one,
Whose work is always done.
How did I feel that day,
You may now just wonder,
In some ways it was the end,
Though our friendship still remains,
And in others it was the start,
Of something great and new.
Of the love of another,
Though we’d been together 4 years,
I didn’t feel broken, as much as disappointed,
That you couldn’t tell me yourself,
But rather I heard it,
From another friend instead.
But our friendship will last forever,
For our love is still remaining.
Not the love we once had,
But rather you are my brother.
So how was I to know,
The love you had changed for another?
Hope
Hope is something beautiful,
Something pure,
White as snow.
Hope is precious,
It helps us all,
Through times of troubles,
Through broken hearts and death.
For we all do suffer,
And the road can be black,
But with hope that is pure,
The world can be brighter,
And all hopes shine on through.
For hope is what dreams are made of,
If the dreaming stops,
All hope is lost,
But when one is hopeful,
All remains right,
And we may be found,
To have hope in a world of darkness once more.
My Dream
I have a dream
A dream of love and romance
A dream of peace and quiet,
A dream of joy and happiness.
But this is a dream, that may never come true,
For a part of this dream is for the poor to be rich
For all love to be true,
For pain to be gone, all to be pure
And all disease to have a cure.
Love that would last,
Hope for all in all
But a dream this but is,
Though I’ll strive for it to be true,
To help make this dream real,
Is but up to you.
I’ll help your dream if it is just,
And I hope you’ll help me,
And gain some great trust.
Don’t Leave Me
I dreamt of night so dark,
My light was gone,
That little spark of life was love,
The love you gave, and now you’re gone
Please don’t stay away,
I’ll love you more,
You’re my life,
I can’t go on
I’ve lived my life without you now,
And I understand why people cry
It’s because their hearts are broken
Never to be whole once more
Only one can mend it,
But never again will the same it be,
Others can try,
But it’s you I need
You said to me, that night you returned
‘I never left, you forgot me’
How did I do that?
How could I manage that,
When you are my life?
You’re my soul,
I shan’t ever let you go again
My love, my dear, I can’t live without you
Dreams Can be Strong
Though people may try to take away
All that you love, all that you’ve gained
Don’t let them win
Just keep your faith
Your Father above,
Is watching with love
A dream is something you can share,
For without it shared,
It shatters fast
Dreams can be crushed,
As easy as crumbs,
So build up a fortress and it’ll stand strong
We’ve all heard of one,
Who gave up their life,
For the dream of millions,
That sparks with life
Although he is gone, still the dream does remain,
A dream that stands strong, in the hearts of millions
