The people at the berry farm lied to me and told me I would find berries. And I didn't.
Boo. I firgot my mum lives in the stone age and doesn't have wifi. No internet. Boo.
Went to South Melbourne Market after the OberNoWriSu meet today and bought half-a-dozen vegetarian dumplings for lunch. Only thing was, they accidentally added a meat dumpling. I noticed as soon as I bit into it and was able to spit it out into a nearby bin, but I didn't feel like eating the remaining dumplings, even after I'd checked that they weren't meat as well.
Not going there again, which makes me sad, but I'll be too paranoid about it from now on. :(
I would very much like it if people at work would stop asking me to cover for them. I'm trying to get a PhD done here! I don't have infinite time to spend working and my thesis is more important to me than doing a 12 hour shift!
I would very much like for it NOT to be 40+ for the the foreseeable future. That'd be great!
We had that storm yesterday, just made it worse because it was then hot AND humid! Ahhh three more days of this.......
Let it be Saturday. They say Saturday it will be normal weather. SATURDAAAY
Indeed, it is apparently going to be around 20 whole degrees cooler!
[act]waves Canadian Winter wind towards Australia[/act]
Hopefully some of it actually reaches you! I do not envy you the heat. With any luck, Saturday will arrive as promised.
So it turns out that the air-conditioning system at uni is not working on my floor so they installed some very loud coolers. Which leads me to say "grrrrrrrrrr" and shake my fist at the girl who turned both cooler arms/vents towards her for the whole day, meaning the cool air didn't really get down towards my end of the office.
Thanks for sending some of the Canadian Winter wind to us Ama. Would you like some Australian Summer heat?

I will be, if I haven't melted into a puddle before then.
Boo, I hope the outages don't effect work tomorrow. It was bad enough yesterday with the power going off every 30-minutes.

Sadly for me we don't get in the situation where everyone gets to go home because the power is out - we have back-up generators to power the entire building in the event of the mains power going. Because TV.
Indeed. one of the critical industries.
And Shonk, your place shouldn't be affected - they said those sort of industries will be left alone.
Stay safe, everyone in VIC and SA. Praying fervently that it doesn't come up our way!
You guys have had more than enough heat up in QLD, Loren :(. Adding our hopes to yours. Looking at the Vic emergency site, looks like there are a few uncontrolled fires up towards the SA border. Fingers crossed they sort those out, but two more days of this extreme weather to get through first!
I would very much like it if people could stop driving past my place and beeping like mad. I honestly don't care you have driven past. It happened like seven times last night while I was trying to sleep!!!
Getting really annoyed with pajama pants- dosent seem to matter what brand, cheap or expensive the elastic dies really fast. Am sick of them falling down when I stumble out to the bathroom at 3am!
odd. None of mine have done that...

If I see one more anti/pro valentine message today I am going to scream. Stop [censored] rubbing it in.
If only it was presented as what it truly is: a day for boosting the profits of card sellers, chocolate manufacturers and florists.

[strike]I just noticed how good plain toast tastes...is this normal?[/strike] (Oops, wrong thread).
I will rant instead about this stupid stupid man who insisted that I sign his identity declaration even though I had never seen him before and thus can't sign it (there was a section where I had to say how long I had known him for in years). Then after spending 5-10 minutes arguing over this he said "I will report you to the government!" and stormed out.
Argh, wasted 10 minutes of my life.

After a long walk, my dog and I turned the corner into our street and we were only a couple of houses away from home when a man on a motorised bicycle came off the road on to the footpath a few houses down, and went straight at us as though we weren't there. I had enough time to move on to the nature strip, but what the hell? The footpath was going to end soon anyway, so he would have been better off staying on the road. I was half-sorry my dog was too tired to leap at him as he might have otherwise done.
