If you're looking for something girly and a little romantic, I recommend Fruits Basket. It's made me both laugh and cry. *imagines Bernard (Black Books) saying "You'll laugh, you'll cry, it'll change your life!"* It's set in the present, with some wonderful zodiac fantasy mixed in.

The only problem I had with Fruits Basket is that I didn't find the guys very swoon-able :P
The first few eps I actually thought Shigure might have some potential, but you realize pretty quickly that he's not going to have a big part. Yuki made me think of the "hot" guys in
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, and they're just plain disturbing.
I suppose Kyo grew on me after a while...not much swooning going on though :P
Oh, oh! But how awesome are Aya and Shigure together? The way they pretend to be in a relationship cracks me up, it's not the kind of humour you usually see in anime :D
OMG, Ouran High School Host Club is awesome! I love it. I've only seen 6 episodes, but I love it. If I am ever feeling down, just the opening credits are enough to have me smiling. It's just so shiny.

Oh man, everything Tamaki does has me crying with laughter, and I love the progressing story about the twins, Hikaru and Kaoru.
