yea.....
im having a mental blank on riddles right now [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/undecided.gif" alt=":-/" border="0"/>
I give you a group of three.
One is sitting down, and will never get up.
The second eats as much as is given to him, yet is always hungry.
The third goes away and never returns.
A stove
A fire (in the stove)
and smoke.
yep
this one is abit metephoric- so think abstract.
Half-way up the hill, I see thee at last
Lying beneath me with thy sounds and sights --
A city in the twilight, dim and vast,
With smoking roofs, soft bells, and gleaming lights.
argh, what is it?
the only thing i can think of is a christmas tree [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/embarassed.gif" alt=":-[" border="0"/>
The moon or the sun just as it's about to rise or set?
arr i thought this would be hard.
aparently it's supposed to represent the past.
*moves into thinking position* i seeee....
i dont.....oh well, anyone got any good riddles?
Anyone put this one up:
Sir, I bear a rhyme excelling
In mystic force and magic spelling
Celestial sprites elucidate
All my own striving can't relate
also no idea [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=":P" border="0"/>
Clue: it's mathematically related.
Nope.
Clue: The riddle is the answer [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/>

TIS PI!! tehe, that was a clever one, Morag, really had to think... very clever indeed....
okay, here's another one
From the beginning of eternity
To the end of time and space
To the beginning of every end
And the end of every place.
What am I?
I haven't been keeping up with this, so not too sure if you've put this one up... [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=":P" border="0"/> have fun tho!
is it the letter E?
i have another (which is quite strange)
Tell me what a dozen rubber trees with thirty boughs on each might be?
edit: could someone explain the Pi riddle, i don't understand it
The letters of the words are equal to one digit of the number pi. (and the comma is the decimal point)
sir = 3
, = .
I = 1
bear = 4
etc etc and so on.
Rubber trees... all I can think of are months of the year, but february only has twenty eight (okay yes, twenty nine every four years or so) so that doesnt actually fit.

I know a word of letters three. Add two, and fewer there will be.
Who makes it, has no need of it. Who buys it, has no use for it. Who uses it can neither see nor feel it.
Whilst I was engaged in sitting I spied the dead carrying the living.
1. Few
2. Coffin
3. Ship

good going Cat... let me see about these ones..
1.Squeeze it and it cries tears as red as its flesh,
but its heart is made of stone.
2.Only two backbones, a thousand ribs.
3.I am the black child of a white father,
a wingless bird, flying even to the clouds of heaven.
I give birth to tears of mourning in pupils that meet me,
even though there is no cause for grief,
and at once on my birth I am dissolved into air.
4.I am both Mother and Father.
I am seldom still
yet I never wander.
I never birth nor nurse.
5.There is a thing that nothing is,
and yet it has a name.
It's sometimes tall and sometimes short,
joins our talks and joins our sports,
and plays at every game?
let see how you go with these ones....
The first one is plum
Is the second one a ladder?
The fifth, shadow?
Damn, Clare got all the answers I was thinking of... [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=":P" border="0"/>
