It's looking awesome Min!
[act]Is still broke from buying xmas pressies but really wants to buy a calendar this year :P[/act]
Looking good! Can't wait to own it!
My only suggestion, and it's not big so feel free to ignore, is that the bottom text box on December's would look a bit more balanced if it was up slightly higher. It doesn't look like the text is being cut off from the bindings (which happened on a couple last year) but because it's so close it makes it a teeny bit unblanaced with the top one. Like I said, it's a tiny suggetion!
Can't do anything about the text, sorry! MK was slightly naughty in sending in an entry with text on it, so I don't have the original file to edit it.
(That's why we asked for entries without text - because once laid out, cut-offs and unbalances and such can occur).
Glad you guys generally like it though!
The calendar looks wonderful! There are some truly beautiful artworks. Great work everyone - there is a lot of talent here :D

I'm late to this, sorry, but - it looks fantastic! Thanks for all the hard work of organising it and figuring out the points. :) And congratulations to everyone who submitted an entry. They look amazing, and obviously took a lot of effort.
Out of curiosity (and rather off-topic, sorry), where do points go when there's no guild to assign them to? Do they just float around, lost in cyberspace, never to find a purpose in life? :P

Cool! Yay, promo :D thanks Zier!
And hey, we honestly don't mind what money comes back to the site. We get so much enjoyment out of it we don't mind paying for it to be perfectly honest :P but any little bit that comes from the store helps.
Fifi - they pretty much just float around cyberspace :P occasionally people not members of a guild will ask their points to be given to a particular guild, but the rest, alas, remain homeless :P

Looks fantastic everyone! I'm just about to launch the new 2011 calendar competition page (I know, where does our time go) ^.^;;) and was just seeking feedback on previous calendar comps.
Does anyone have anything they'd like to see, or any suggestions on how the comp could be run more smoothly?

There's something I'd like to see tried out: what if we had certain scenes we had to depict for each month? I find it a bit hard to find something to put together, so if there was more than just a general category I think it might be easier for some. Although, on the other hand, it might restrict those who just get a spur of the moment idea and would like to try it out. And there's always those extrememly last minute entries. Maybe more points coulc be offered for getting in early entries? But that could also mean that they'd be rushed and not as good as they could be.
I found that the stock albums from Obernet members were really good, so if we could get more of those I think we could have more of a variety of entries :)
With regard to EI's first comment, why not have 'suggested' categories people can enter, but still leave it open to general scenes and ideas people have? Then you could have the best of both worlds.
I wouldn't offer extra points for early entries (because really, what is the difference between receiving an entry in April or in August?) but I think reminders might work well. 2 months left, 1 month left, etc. Maybe we can all just agree that whenever we remember and no one's spoken in the thread for 3 weeks or more we'll post a reminder :P
I know I didn't even enter this year, but I prefer it if it's made very clear that you can enter an entry that's not part of those cateogories. I always feel like "Oh, I don't have any ideas for any of those categories..." Or this year when I hadn't read half of the other books (but that's not why I didn't enter, I don't have an image editing program and it was my first year of uni so I was rather busy! Next year = less contact hours :D)

Thanks for your feedback ;) it is noted. I was hoping to link a lot more (or highlight) of the site competitions as potential sources of inspiration for generating art for the calendar :)
Cat-eyes, I feel your pain! There is just not enough time in my day to accomplish all I wish too ^.^;;; Well here's to 2010 ;)
A question, is there a list of who did which artwork (and titles of the artworks if there are ones) for the 2010 calendar?
Last year's calendar, I printed off the list and made captions for each picture using sticky labels lol - I liked knowing who-did-what :)
The names are already on there as a watermark in the bottom right hand corner :)

Aren't they hidden beneath the binding though? At the last melbourne obermeet we spent a little while figuring all the names out. I think they were all unpuzzled, but I can't remember them any more.
That's funny, on mine they're all above the binding and perfectly legible. The paper's shiny though, perhaps it was the light?
Mine are all hidden by the binding :( - didn't even notice there were words there until I looked closely around the binding holes :P
Could you possibly put a list up, from your Calendar, Cat-Eyes?
Jan by Meriymun
Feb by Paperwings
Mar by Songlover
April by Firefall
May by Zieria
June by Songlover
July by Arielle
Aug by Elspethinnle
Sep by Min and Ames
Oct by Elspethinnle
Nov by Songlover
Dec by Mornirkirara
That's really weird that it's cut it off on yours and not mine - and also really dodgy! You should complain or something, because mine are all at least half a centimetre above the binding holes.
Argh :-? maybe I should - paid through the nose for it after all :P
Thanks for that, Cat-Eyes :)
