1. Yes ~:| sorry all, I do tend to post long posts ^.^;; &Sorry I know this is random but about the affirmative team, I recently had a little brush over it (too much writing) and they’re talking about koalas! :P

And this is where things get slightly murky doesn't it - what Beforetime teknoglogy has already crossed over into the Oberverse? I guess, the point we are trying to make is that we don't want to completely recreate the old world...I was wondering about definitions of "teknologies". Because surely they could take some things from the Beforetime without it doing any damage. Like jeans, and comfy shoes. :P Seriously though, some Beforetime ways of doing things or making things would be an improvement without compromising their world, and they don't necessarily involve "teknology" as such...
Sorry, I should have been less lazy and actually quoted properly - technically the quote is "Power has a way of ... changin' a person. In th' end, what would all that power do to ye good intentions?" (page 119, Obernewtyn) But it's essentially the same idea - power can cause people to want more power, and use any means to get it. Also, some expressions have survived since the Beforetime, so why not that one about power corrupting, even if no one has mentioned it specifically? :P [Here's an article commenting on that quote - ~Link~ - could give us a couple of points]."Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Oberchron quote - I likes :D
So I think this one are we trying to say that if we did introduce it back, people will become greedy?
Hehe, yes, I can see myself doing the same thing... ::)Man ^.^;;; I can see me spending way too much time at these debates ~:|

Arwen: "Technology could mean anything- computers, tv, weapons, medical, music devices, phones, transport, etc.
I think it means we should forget about the past and the technologies, leave them for dead."
Arcana: "Beforetime technologies = knowledge (and any inventions) developed during the Beforetime and lost as a result of the Great White"
1. Human innovation in action that involves the generation of knowledge and processes to develop systems that solve problems and extend human capabilities; 2. The innovation, change, or modification of the natural environment to satisfy perceived human needs and wants.
Technology—Any specific information and know-how (whether in tangible form, such as models, prototypes, drawings, sketches, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, software, or in intangible form, such as training or technical services) that is required for the development, production, or use of a good, but not the good itself.
I've just had a look and it seems that the Moonfairy spelt the name wrong - it was meant to be ravyn. :) Should we send them a PM?oh! it seems i'm taking part in this debate even tho i didn't sign up lol.

Sorry, I really didn't explain that point very well - I didn't mean to sound like I was dismissing Deb's points. What I meant was that with the current state of the Land there aren't many Misfit Healers other than at Ober, but I agree that as the Misfits become more widely accepted (and as others begin to find they have Healing Talent) they'll be helping more throughout the Land. Plus there will also be more Herb Lorists coming out of hiding, as the word spreads that the new leaders approve of it. :) Herb Lore certainly sounds better than the Council's potions, even if it's not as effective as Healers...And as to the point of Healing and farseeking etc only being beneifical to misfits- well with talented misfits being more accepted into society, surely they can work with normal landfolk- isn't it just like 'doctors' setups here? We get sick, we go see a Doctor who is trained .... Landfolk get sick, they can go see a Healer
