I had never heard of this one... I will have to have a look at it.
I've been watching this one right from the start and I'm rather enjoying it. There were definitely a couple of times when the posting of footage would seem rather questionable, but that happened quite a bit in the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, too. I do like the way they've made it look pretty much as though it genuinely is a series of video diaries, yet the thought that does into the script and the adaptation itself is quite clever and well-planned. It will certainly be interesting to see how they deal with the whole Bertha situation! I'm honestly not sure what they'll do there.
OK, I just spent the weekend watching this on trains (... that sounds as strange as it is).
The QandA useage - clever - and I loved the one at the airport.
Re Rochester - I like how he really does seem weird with her at the beginning. She really doesn't know what to think ... but then I love the kidnapped episode. They really do have a good rapport (and he's watching her videos ... CHESS!)
Hmmmm the proposal scene I liked and didn't ... mostly because this was the first time I felt that the actors were acting. Or rather, Rochester.
I don't know if it was him in particular, or if it was because he was the only one (in character) conscious of the camera being on and was playing to it a bit, or if it was the poor camera angle ... I just prefer him when he's joking. So I don't know whether I'm meant to feel that it is a bit off key in its delivery, or if it really was off-key. GAH!
It's as though that fantastic chemistry they'd built up just vanished during that scene - it was a world away from that glorious video when they spent the day just doing silly things together. And that first kiss was so awkward - it actually looked as though he was trying to push her away. But there is always cleverness in the way this show is done, so I'm feeling much the same confusion as you are right now. Is it on purpose or not? It makes me wish I could remember the details of the book more clearly, but I haven't read it since I had to study it in Year 11.
Have you seen the AoJE production youtube channel? They do spoof videos - the one posted recently by Rochester is hilarious!
"I AM A SEXY PIRATE!!"
I have literally just this minute found out about it as a result of checking out their Indiegogo campaign. These videos are now top of my list of Ways to Procrastinate this Afternoon.
Ooooooooohhhhh. Spooky person in her room!!
The last two episodes are fantastic, aren't they? I absolutely loved the one where the power went off and we were left with ever-so-faint creaking footsteps at the end. Although personally, I spent most of the episode terrified that Jane's candle was going to set fire to those flowers.
The truth!!! 26 minutes .... pretty epic. I like that Jane's reason for leaving is about Rochester's behaviour.
Fifi and I were talking, and we think they might Combine st. John and her uncle. Why else introduce him?
Bumping this up because I am LOVING Diana and Mary. Jane is a completely new person in this household, and I am completely loving that she is starting to seem like she is acting her ACTUAL age! Very liberating for her!
Also, Simon is adorkably cute!
There's such a fantastic rapport between Jane, Diana and Mary - I love all of the videos with them. They make me wish I could just step inside and spend some time with them.
Man I am loving what is happening with this show ... especially as you get glimpses of Rochester on Twitter actually doing what Jane told him to do ...
And Simon. So cute!
THEY CHANGED ROCHESTER!!!!! (they actor, that is) In just about the last episode (yes, it's just about done). So all we got was a blurry picture (from a distance) of him and deliberately muted voices.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed.
