Yes, good. Write me something!!
I has an offering of words for the wielders of cattle prods!
Where may I present my humble offering?
Hannai, can you see the Contributors Forum option on the main forum page of Obernet? If so, and if you're happy for all potential contributors to read your offering, create yourself a thread and post there (it's a restricted forum, so general interlopers won't have the ability to look). If you'd like to share with everyone and can't see the forum, we'll ask Min to give you access. If you'd prefer to just show the editing committee (which at the moment consists of Shonk :)), then send Shonk a PM with either a link to your words, if they're online, or with a request for her email address so you can email her the words directly.
Okay, with the new year coming up, it's time to get started on this in true. We've (almost) got our anthology title, got our editing committee, so now we just need to start compiling some words and making some stories.
So, to get the ball rolling, or bouncing, or wobbling, or being chased by dogs or what-have-you, I'm going to put together some workshops and whatnot that everyone can partake in online if they so choose.
But to do that I need to know what people would be interested in doing? What is the most difficult thing for people to write? What troubles do we have to get ourselves writing in the first place? etc. etc.
For me it's actually planning out what to write/finding a direction for the story to go. I might get an idea of a story, then get stuck not knowing what to do with it. Partly that's just me not wanting to commit to a particular direction, and partly being stuck thinking of what would work, and what isn't too pathetic.
A general creativity/ideas generation workshop would be good too! They're fun, and they get people involved. If people are up to it, of course.
For me it would be helpful for a workshop on what Axein said, as I find that I generally run out of plausible ways to get character A to location 3 or to character B

When do submissions close? September 2015? Sorry if this has been stated somewhere and I've missed it. I feel quite out of the loop!
I'm keen to write something. My writing suffers from severe motivational issues, so I'm hoping this will help with that.
We're playing a lot by ear at the moment, simply because we haven't undertaken such an endeavor before--so there is no set date yet. Originally, plan was for submissions to close at least a month or two BEFORE September so that editing and proofing and formatting of the book could get done during September, for an October release.
Since initially beginning this project though, my free time has been dramatically reduced so not a lot has been done towards it, for which I am sorry for, but there isn't a lot I can do about that at the moment.
Hi, I'm new to ober.net (God knows how I didn't find it sooner as I've been repeatedly reading the oc since I was 12) and am very interested in this project. I noticed in one post that deadlines and such were being played by ear and was wondering where the project is at, have submissions closed etc.
Thanks
Kerryn
Hi Kerryn, this project stalled last year, but if we can get enough enthusiasm, we'd certainly like to kick it off again. Have you a piece you're working on that you'd like to submit?
