I found out about this months ago, but it was all speculation at the time.
I'm not sure how good this spinoff series will be, as its mooted to be mroe of a drama than a sci-fi show
Yay!
I'm a BSG addict...
I've downloaded all of the recently aired season 3 episodes, cos the thought of waiting indefinitely for them to air over here is just too heartbreaking to contemplate. [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif" alt=":D" border="0"/>
lol me too, rigel! It was a really tough decision to make, whether to watch them on the internet or not, coz the resolution's not very good, and I'd get a better Battlestar 'experience' if I just waited, but who knows when it'll finally air here, and what ch. 10 will do to it? So I gave in to my obsessive curiosity (originally i only meant to watch the first ep. of season 3, coz I was so shocked by the last ep. of season 2) and now I'm on to Episode 7 - Measure of Salvation, but I'm trying to draw them out so they'll last longer [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/> It's so annoying, I don't know ANYONE who watches the show, so I don't have anyone to talk about it with, except my sister, but she stopped watching before the end of season 1!
Where do you download them from?

Yeah, I was worrying about that too. There won't be any battles, and if it's revolving around two families in a world much like earth ... [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/undecided.gif" alt=":-/" border="0"/>
Kayt is another BSG fan! We obsess over the Adamas together :P and LJ has many a BSG community!
I download them as a torrent from Demonoid - it's really great as it takes about 45 minutes to 2 hours to download depending on the file size :D
Which reminds me... I have to seed back for episodes 7 and 8!
I was the same - only thinking I'd watch the season opener and then wait until later, but I'm hooked! I'm now up to episode 10 (only one more to go before I'm all caught up to the USA)
I'm up to ep. 11 now :P I couldn't resist ...
I tried to find other sites but you had to pay for all of them, so I've been getting them from Youtube, which has terrible resolution, since it's not actually meant for it.
Ah, the Adamas ... I like Bill, but I have to say I'm more of a Lee fan. And I love Kara too. And someday they will make the 'perfect' couple when they finally get together, though maybe not during the show's actual airing, because it's always better when they don't. :P
Eeee!
Lee/Kara!!!
Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
Episode 9 had me in a fangirlish squeee! He declared his love for her!!! And then she crushed his heart and married Anders... :(
Although I think half the reason I love them so much is the fact that they never ever seem to work together - there's always that tension
I do have a slight thing for Adama senior... he's a very imposing figure - I ship him and Laura Roslin together (I'm such a sad fangirl...)
Mmmm.... Adama Sandwich...
And Adama Snr./Roslin is OTP!!!
Must... avoid... spoilers. Just came in to drool over the prospect of an Adama Sandwhich...
Everyone on that show is good looking :D
*seconds the idea of an Adama sandwich with some Helo on the side and Anders dessert*
Bah!!!
Helo is yucky, and I'm not that into Anders. I'll have me a Tyrol sidedish, and maybe even a Starbuck garnish. I don't normally eat that kinda thing, but... it's Starbuck!!!
Yes!
It's Starbuck!
And the chief is most excellent! I'll add some Billy for the coffee round and some spicy Baltar (I have this sicko thing for him too :P)
Interesting. Looks like creating the cylons was that guy's way to bring back people who are dead, but it all went wrong, or at least that's what I'm getting from that trailer. I haven't watched series 3 of BSB yet though, maybe they explained something in that... Interesting the bit where he says 'My family name's not Adams, it's Adama' Ooooh...

Yay! A thread exists for this show! :D
I just wanted to see if anyone else out there is a fan of this awesome show.
(Lets ignore for a moment that it's already been cancelled :( ).
I haven't watched Battlestar before (it just didn't hook me in), but I found Caprica totally accessible.
What I loved most about the show is that it was about consequences. It didn't discriminate, the rich or good weren't excused from their choices and actions. And I loved the detail; the tiny little bit of the Caprican anthem we hear at the Pyramid game, the outdoor lighting always being slightly more yellow than Earth, to remind us it's a different planet. The characters were conflicting as well, similar feeling to Dollhouse really (only natural considering Jane Espenson was involved, I guess!). You could see they were doing bad things, or things they hadn't thought about, and you didn't know whether you should like them or not.
And Avatar-Zoe's journey, reminds me a lot of Echo's in Dollhouse, again. She is her original, but something else, her own person, as well. She was just seeming to discover that...
Now to reality...does anyone know why it was canned? Is it still saveable, perhaps, like Primeval?
I haven't seen it, I know it's been on 7mate or GEM or Go or ABC2 or something, but I didn't know when it started so I haven't wanted to watch it as I'll be coming in halfway through. Wonder if my brother's got them online though...
I'm glad to see you say it sounds good, I'll get on to it!
I really only want to see it because apparently my favourite actor is in couple of episodes...I just don't know what episodes, so I probably won't be watching it. I did see the start of the first episode, though. It was...Strange. :)

The start of the first episode - don't let that turn you off Smuffy. It was horrible (and not PG - deals with ritual sacrifice. If it helps...it's virtual. But that's somewhat the point, it's not supposed to help that it's virtual) and had me wanting to turn away / switch it straight off.
I think it was intentionally there to shock us into V-world, to try get us to -
somewhat understand why the kids would turn away from that world / easily be manipulated by a cult, because of the lack of moral guidelines and zero ramifications for doing bad things. It was also designed for the character development of the Zoe avatar, to show her what Zoe/Ben/Lacey thought was wrong with the world, and drive home why she was going to help change that...though we don't know how she was going to do that obviously now.
And...I'm betting that's why the show's been cancelled, because there's a horrible shock-factor to some of the things that happen on the surface, that turn people off. It (again) reminds me of Dollhouse, in that way.
Look past it and there's a really interesting story / study on characters and like I said before - consequences. It really drives home that every action has consequences.
Cat you should definitely check it out if you get the chance, but I agree - don't start part way through! I can't imagine it'd make much sense without seeing the pilot, as the entire series is based around the consequences of an action that happens in that episode.
Hopefully they'll start playing the rest of season 1 in the UK soon, after having an 'extended' break after nine episodes!
As Min mentioned, the series has been cancelled, but a new spin-off series is potentially in the works. A two-hour pilot has been commissioned called 'Blood & Chrome' and will be set 10 years into the Cylon War. It will follow the exploits of William Adama when he was a rookie Viper pilot...

A spin-off series of the spin-off series of the remake? Wow, Holywood is really running out of ideas.
Not that I don't think that'd be cool, if they get a good actor to play young Adama it could be really good.
