How I hate drawing curly hair.

Hello all - I was wondering if perhaps you would be interested in helping me with a fanpiccy I've been wanting to draw up of Ariel with his pack of wolves.
I would like to draw him as a young child - and well, it's hard to find pictures of beautiful-angelic-like blonde boys on the net that I can use as a model.
(btw, these aren't my pictures, I found them on the net, so credit goes to them!)
Some pictures I found that could perhaps provide some sort of basis for drawing Ariel included:
-I tried drawing something yesterday (using the hairstyle of the girl with blonde hair)... but after being told it looked strange... I wthoguht I needed a new approach :P Can anyone perhaps suggest a hairstyle then thinks suits our love-to-hate antagonist of the series?
And some pictures of Cherubs/angelish - cause that is what some people though Ariel would resemble: but I think they are a bit young...
Also, how old do you think he is? Any nice images of a boy ~8-10 years old?
I thought perhaps this one (which I actually kinda like for Dameon :P)
Some ideas for wolves I have include these:
I pictured Ariel's wolves more like the former - but the 2nd ones just look so demonic!
Anyways - any help, page refs, descriptions would be muchly appreciated!
