Our second speaker will inform you of the importance of learning from the past. They will argue that we must explore the past in order to progress to the future.
This is what we're supposed to be talking about. But I'm sure we could sneakily add in a few other points. the Moonfaries did say we were allowed to edit our post, after all.
I think we should talk about learning from the past, TSC's point about not wasting Beforetime knowledge, and possible something else.
We can't talk about medicine because Helena was supposed to do that. It doesn't matter, though, because we can include that in our fourth post. Our fourth post sums up all of our arguments, so that would be the time to sneakily put in any points that we've missed.
Our third speaker is talking about...
Our third speaker will consider all of the social and cultural benefits that the Beforetimers could pass on to the Land through their technology.
I think we could also include my point about all the technology that we already use and that we would have to give up. This could cause a rebellion, etc.
And there are probably other points too.
Anyway, I suggest we get started on our next post.
Do we want to use my introduction, or something like it but a little less lame?
Speaker: *clears throat*
Gypsies: *aren't listening* *chatter loudly*
Spaeker: Um... excuse me!
Gypsies: *don't see her*
Speaker: EXCUSE ME!
Gypsies: *chattering away*
Speaker: *grabs a microphone and plugs it in* Excuse me!
All: *turn to look at her*
Speaker: *is slightly taken-aback by the sudden attention cast her way*
Greetings Gypsies, Moonfaires, Obernetters, and opposing team members.
As you are well aware by now, the topic for tonight's debate is that -
"Beforetime technology should stay in the past." Being the negative team, we obviously disagree with this ridiculous statement.
First of all, I would like to rebut some of the opposition's argument.
(rebuttals follow)
It is extremely important for us to learn from the past in order to progress to a better future. If we don't unearth Beforetime technology and explore it, how can we learn from our mistakes? How can we prevent another Great White from occurring if we chose to just ignore it and hope it doesn't happen again?
The affirmative team themselves have pointed out that humans have a natural sense of curiosity, and that they would create their own technology to suit their needs. how long before someone has the brilliant idea of creating weaponmachines? And the world may not survive a second apocalypse.
This is very unstructured and just a raw beginning, but I thought I should give people something to work with.
