Katie McGrath (the girl who plays Morgana there) is a very good pick for an older Elspeth, though - say, TKP or TSK Elspeth!
From what I've seen of Merlin, she's a little under-used in the entire show. I would love to see what she's capable of in a bigger role...also, it'd be interesting for Elspeth to have an Irish accent :P
yeh shed be a great Elspeth!!! I agree with you too min that shes a bit older than elspth should be in the first books but it never mentions her age in the books so... as for her accent, why not? it has never been said that she had to be from anywhere. just asumed. Sorry for being picky like that.
I think its kool that she's a futureteller!
Spoiler for non merlin watchers.

I normally imagine elspeth with hair like my one of my friend's, it's so perfectly straight that you can brush it backwards and it still won't tease. You've sold me though, I think Morganna's hair is excellent for Elspeth.
While she's not how I imagined Elspeth would look, I agree that she would be just right for an older Elf. From seeing her as Morganna, I also think that she could pull of Elspeth's signature cool detatchment and mystery really well.
Love the way she is also a latent futureteller!
The eyes and hair really look like how I imagine Elspeth.
I love how she's a futureteller too! ;D
only problem i see with Morgana being an older elf is the accent. thats my only problem,
I have never in my life seen Merlin, I would like to, and that's a great older Elspeth.
I think the hair may have to darkened a bit (?) and I disagree with Elspeth having an Irish accent. When someone speak in a different accent, you can usually tell, because there's "nowt, ye, mun" etc. and if Elspeth pronounced it differently, I expect there would be some reference to the difference.
Well :P the original topic was just that her hair looks like what we imagine Elspeth's to look like?
Anyway back to the accent thing - the majority of Brit actors can do the rest of the accents from their country, usually. David Tennant is Scottish and managed a very convincing English accent for many productions!
I looove Merlin too!!
But soooo annoyed about how Morgana is actually bad kind of...I think...well she is supposed to be from other versions I've read. I read the Road to Camelot, a collection of different stories of the Arthurian Legend, and Morgana was always evil, so I always expected her to turn bad in the series, although because it shows Merlin and everyone when they are younger it may be different. After the last episodes of Merlin, I am still not sure as to Morgana's side - good or bad. Having her in the whole series, she grows on you and it just seems so wrong for her to be bad at all! In the series, it is all Mordred's fault...Well I suppose and Morgais and the Druids and of course Uther as well...Isn't Uther just sooo infuriating?! - Not sure if that was any spoilers, but anyway...
I can never picture characters from books, only key features that they have, so it is good to see actors who might be considered as being a character you know.
I really like that first picture of Morgana! I've never seen it before but she looks so pretty.
I think she would make a really good elspeth! And i also love merlin! I think that an accent can be masked and/but i don't really mind it.
I have watched the first two seasons and they are sooo good, except they can be soo infuriating because merlin never reveals his powers to anyone but Lancelot! Grr i wish he had just told morganna everything then she would have been on his side!!
i see keria nightly as being elf but with black hair what do you guys think?
I think she is probably to old for the role.

Her hair does work well! She actually reminds me of Camilla Belle who is the girl I use for Elspeth.
Wow, she would be a good Elf. She has that innocent face 'sad eyes'.

Oh - Gemma Arterton! She's Lizzie Bennet from Lost in Austen (the pictures you've got are from Tess though I think). She's awesome but I think she's a little too innocent-looking for Elspeth. Gemma looks almost like I'd expect Kella or Freya to look (just...blonde).
To me they're the innocent-looking characters; Elspeth has the sad eyes but I'd expect a more...determined, rather than innocent, gaze.
(And yes, with this logic I'm rethinking my own pick for Elspeth in the cast thread, too...)
