Does The Dragon Keeper have Malta, Selden and Reyn in it? Because I really liked those characters.
And do you hear anything about the Fool?
To your first question, yes, it does.
To your second...no. It made me sad, too.
Dragon Keeper really is fantastic - I'm a huge fan of Hobb's books and the only thing which annoyed me about Dragon Keeper is that I would have to just sit and wait for the second volume. *pouts*
Hobb has been described as a somewhat homophobic author by some (can't find the link to where I last saw this stated), which I could never really see...I'd guess it probably has something to do with the fact that
Fitz and the Fool never get together at the end of the books, like many fans had been hoping/expecting. (That's a spoiler for those who haven't finished all of the books, Tawny Man trilogy in particular.)
- However, it's clear in Dragon Keeper that Hobb is
definitely not averse to writing a bit of homosexuality into her plot: again, only highlight the spoiler if you really wanna know...
but one of the main characters in Dragon Keeper has a husband who's also shagging the male secretary. Whoo.I'd
love to discuss Dragon Keeper with anyone who's read it.
