Right! I need to stop wasting my time and get this started. I think we have enought to do a basic version of it - which would be good to start with.
So let me check I've got names right for those involved -
Maz
Deb
Kaede
Fate
BM
Larana - were you interested in joining or just looking forward to enjoying our end product?
Any more want to get on board for this one?
I'm gonna set myself the deadline of posting the starter verses on Sunday then I think it is up to people to add a verse one at a time when they feel like it and this will define the order it continues it. Normally there is a time frame involved of an hour or a day or something similar. As we are online I'll set it as one week from the day I post the starter.

*dpm* Graaah!
Maz: Please don't eat the poem DPM!
OK, opening verse in haiku form. I think technically we are supposed to alternate haiku form (3 lines, 5-7-5 syllables) with a second verse style of 2 lines (7-7 syllables) but I think if we prefer to all write in haiku form then there should be no harm in that - we'll just call it an Ober-renga. Essentially the main aim is to work together.
Incidentally - sorry I forgot to post this yesterday. Verse one now follows - lets go!

I hope this is okay! It doesn't seem to be directly related, but it was the first thing that came to mind after reading Maz's haiku ~:| And just in case anyone thinks it's a mistake, I do mean preying, not praying :)

well, I think they are all amazing so far!
now we are painting
our lives are oil on canvas
of the horizon
Can anyone join?
a line far distant
drawn by hand as yet unknown
draws ever closer
meh, it's rubbish, but this is fun!
whilst painting this hand
carries no single burden
of its creations

Ok, sorry, I have been meaning to come along and post the compiled first ever Oberrenga for a week. Now I've read it all together I'm quite simply blown away by what our collaboration has produced. Well, here it is:
Oberrenga #1

canvassed in chaos
hues and shades splattered between

now we are painting
our lives are oil on canvas
