Okay, I decided to start a thread here, because as some of you know, I have a blog. And currently (and for many months now) I have been working through The Obernewtyn Chronicles, chapter-by-chapter (sometimes only half a chapter, they get pretty long!) a day.I know shameless self-promotion, but it is Obernewtyn related.
And the time has finally come for The Sending. Okay, actually I'm starting it in exactly one month on
The 10th of February 2013 with my predictions for what is going to happen in the book. And then on the 12th I'll start with Chapter 1 (on the 11th I'll talk about the 'history', length, front cover, etc of The Sending). I would be delighted if you would join me on my journey. You can laugh at my predictions, gloating over your knowledge of what is to come. And you can laugh at my confusion when things happen during the text. And most importantly, you can relive your favourite scenes, through me (sounds weird) and can tell me what you love about them.
BUT, I must warn each and everyone one of you, that if you spoil me, you die. End of story! I know you won't purposely do it (you aren't Ariel, sorry those who love him) but I want to point out that spoilers are more diverse than just telling me plot points. They include hinting at things, like 'can't wait until you get to .....', 'the answer will be soon', 'go back and read this, it explains everything', 'this character gets better', 'I hate what .... does soon'. Basically if it hasn't happened yet, don't comment in English.
What? Yes you can comment, and I'd love you too, because then all of you can have a conversation in the comments about spoilers.
But how? The answer is
rot13, you simply type in your comment, and press cypher, it will then look like complete gibberish! To read what someone else has said you copy it (or get an add on for your browser) and put it there and press cypher, and it will be revealed! Don't be put off by these rules, if in doubt put it in rot13, or ask someone else on this site if they would consider it spoilery. (In fact, someone could become a 'moderator of sorts' if 'this becomes a thing', and check comments for spoilers, and if they exist, put them into rot13 to protect me from seeing them)
(For a much more comprehensive spoiler policy, check out
Mark Does Stuff and essentially that is what I am basing mine off of)
Yes I know it is a while away (and I'm sure to bring it up a lot more), but I want to all alert you to what I'm going to do, and give you the opportunity to take part, and I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for you to do so! It would make the experience amazing.
So: my blog is found here
Daniel Is Reading, and you can check out all of my other reviews of the Ober Chrons, plus The Book Thief, and Cloudstreet, in addition to a few other posts about The Hobbit, LOTR, famous short stories, The Hunger Games, Spoilers, and other books I have read in my own time.
Thanks! Hope to see you on the site!
