  He's kinda old for the part I guess but I thought he sorta suits the role of Alad because he seems like he is good at playing a strong character that is also kind and compassionate.

  A rather good (if I may say so myself) actor for the part of Alexi:

  The reason - from Obernewtyn, page 150:
  
  "I turned slowly and there, half-concealed by a shelf, stood a tall beautiful man with shining white hair. His skin was pale and soft liket hat of a child and his eyes were the coldest and darkest I had ever seen."
  
  Alexi's voice is also described as sounding like "undiluted honey" - this seems like a perfect portrait of Jason Isaacs (except that beauty is subjective, of course!).

  Yeah, I agree with the Alexi suggestion, Jason Isaacs would be fantastic as Alexi and I think Oliver James is prob really good for the role Angina too, but he (Oliver James) really annoys me in every movie I've ever seen him in, never know, maybe i'll like him more after seeing him play a character I like.
