Did anyone else ever have those dreams when they were little that frightened them so much that they couldn't sleep, but they couldn't get out of bed either because they didn't know exactly what was lurking under the bed?
When I was little I used to live on this street in Hahndorf that came off of this really long road that went up a really big hill. My cousins lived in a house at the top of the hill.
I had this dream from the age of five/six to about eleven and it wasn't until I got the nerve to tell someone that I realised how rediculous it was and never had it again.
I'm not actually IN the dream, I'm kinda following these two people around and they can't see me. These two men are dressed in gaol outfits (those black and white striped ones you see in cartoons) and they run into my cousins house ( A whole different family is living there, two kids and two adults are a asleep, I don't see them, I just know they're there - as you seem to in dreams)
The two robbers run out of the house and ones holding a little boy (about 6?) and the other one is holding an even littler girl. THey both shoot the kids in the head and the parents come out screaming as the two men ride down the hill on (get this!) a bright red two-person bicycle!
At this point I always woke up
THis dream tormented me almost every night for about five years and it wasn't until I said it out loud one day that I realised that 'robbers' (that's what I called them in my head) wouldn't ride off on a two person bicycle.
Did anyone else have any recurring childhood dreams or nightmares?
I always used to have some about the 'Black Shadows'. It started off the first one i was on a beach, then I knew something had covered the sun, yet everything was still light. It just felt like an eclipse. I looked up and there was this huge shadow there. Scared me like hell. I had heaps of ones after that involving 'Black Shadows' such as they would turn the lights off in my room and lock the door and torment me. After a few years I eventually made friends with them, and they never came back.
