I dunno... maybe??? Have you had any luck yet Siryn?? And Stephen, how do you know all this cool stuff???
No no. No luck with me. I thought i had the perfect opportunity this morning when i woke up after dreaming and tried to fall back asleep to dream the same thing again KNOWING that it was a dream. unfortunately i couldnt fall back asleep. oh well.
the dream was strange though. i was a mother trying to keep my baby from being stolen. me, my baby and the woman trying to steal him/her (gender never specified) were in an indoor swimming pool complex... strange, yeah?
im trying all the time though. you'll be the first i tell if i'm successfull.
Ok, first, Siryn, my name is pronounced like the normal 'Steven', although some easily mistake it for 'Steffan' or similar. And catwhisperer - glad it worked for you and you conquered the original problem, at least for now anyway. Told you all it takes is time. And how do I know all this? I suppose I have a hunger for knowledge, me and my cousin have discovered many things together, and once I learn something I never forget it, I just expand on it via my experiences and people I talk to, so I suppose that's how I come across it. Plus it's always interested me.
you know whats always interested me? -Autism
but how do you never forget what youve learned? i ALWAYS forget! (esp during the last year of school)
do you have a photographic memory or something?
Yeah, I suppose it is a photographic memory. Either that or I'm an elephant. I never forget what I wanna remember is more to the point.
I think you're really clever then [img]http://s2.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/> Thanks heaps again for your help. Siryn, what interests you about autism?
how a person can withdraw into their own mind like that, how theyre constantly trying to make sense of our world (why sometimes an Autistic person will obsessively count and line up paperclips etc) and sadly how many really want to be part of our world but most often never will be. it really interests me, id love to understand their universe, to know what theyre going through.
yeh it is really kinda sad... but they're really clever too in a mathematical way. i heard they can, like, count bricks on a building or something crazy like that in a few minutes.
not all can. theres something called Hyperlexia (sp?) some people with Autism have it some people WITHOUT Autism have it too. it all depends on the individual. there are some people who think that all Autistic people are highly intelligent but this isn't true. SOME ARE but no more in relation to how many highly intelligent people there are in the wider population.
i cant think of a way to put this simply but Autistic people have little social or emotional intelligence, this doesn't mean that they don't WANT to be social or that they cant feel emotions because they CAN and they do, just like us. but if you think about the 'umbrella' of intelligence, there can be countless things, social, emotional then academic, mathematical, inter/extra personal and you could even make up your own. some people say 'book' smarts and 'street' smarts when they're talking about some different types of intelligence.
I think I knew one once, but I can't remember if it was that or something else.
My parents have a friend who has an autistic son but they live halfway around the world so we never see them. You know, I thought they were ALL mathematically gifted. There you go! [img]http://s2.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/>
10-05=06: I now have a phobia of double-posting but i do have a new dream. I dreamt one of my teachers died and it wasn't a mean one either... whenm i woke up i was really upset and i didn't remember why until i saw him!
awww thats awful if you felt so sad -mebe you should dream about your sose teacher dying..... whenever i dream of death it aint sad at all -theyre more matter-of-factly.
ok- i just looked something up coz i thought death actually meant life THIS thing said that it might mean that the 'dead' person might get married OR you might get lots of money soon? -work THAT out...OH your modelling career might take off !!! who knows?
Lucid dream? is that possible? but eh, sleep is sleep, why do i care.
and about being chased. you don't know what your being chased by? my suggestion would to just (in real life) go out and run, for a while. just try it. i'm no psycologist or anything compared to what the above posters are, but just try it.
Actually, grunty, i found out through lucid dreaming what was chasing me- nothing. and when i looked into my life i realise perhaps i was running from nothing. it made a difference to the way i saw myself, and the nightmares went away.
thanks for replying, siryn. it does suck. i am in english and i just saw the aforementioned teacher walk past [img]http://s2.images.proboards.com/sad.gif" alt=":(" border="0"/> If i look at it in a different way, perhaps i could consider what the teacher symbolises to me? Learning? Growing? Detnetion? Nah... kidding. i like this teacher. anyway, maybe there'll be a change in my life to do with learning? Or writing??!!!!
read this thread -very good explainations...<<
