In this captivating first book, two little creatures, brothers Zluty and Bily, live happily in their little house in the desert. Once a year Zluty journeys alone to the Great Forest to gather the essential nuts and herbs for the coming winter months. Every year Bily fears for his safety, and every year Zluty returns unharmed with tales of his adventures. Until one year, when a strange red wind sweeps across the land destroying every in its path. Zluty must flee the desert and venture deeper into the forest than he has ever been to escape it. And Bily, alone in the desert, discovers a 'monster' hidden in his cellar, and must fight for his survival... A magical quest story about physical and metaphorical journeys, about family, and friendship, and accepting that change is a necessary part of life.[ More about The Red Wind ] Congrats Isobelle! from CBC Australia Winners 2011
