| "I feel so unwanted," Ana whispered. "But you're always wanted!" Mariel protested "Not at school, at home," As usual, Ana sat on a pristine half wall covered in crisp white bricks. The pink setting sun's glow reflected on the glistening wall, giving it a tinge of sunset pink. Through her tears, Ana gazed at lustrous green trees speckled with fragrant blossoms. Ana was beginning to think her perfect twin sister who looked nothing like her was favoured by her indifferent parents. She always got more food and opportunities, it just wasn't fair! Ana brushed her tears away as if they were annoying flies. "I'd better get home or big trouble," she grumbled. "Ok I'll see you tomorrow, bye." Mariel called. While she sauntered home, Ana thought how lucky she was to have a friend like Mariel. Ana was wanted at school, she was a popular sweet girl who everyone liked, she just wished the same could be at home. Home she thought, is it really my home do I belong there? As she entered her gloomy house which was completely grey and what people call modern she thumped down her heavy school bag in the small entrance hall as her nosy sister came bouncing round. "Mum said you have to put your bag in the downstairs bedroom Ana," she sneered. "And what about your bag, its just lying there," Ana retorted "Well you probably have to put my bag away too," Sammy taunted. Ana stared at her in disbelief as Sammy shoved her towards the disregarded downstairs bedroom. Rage boiled inside her like a tormenting fire but she shuffled towards the only room in the house she liked. An aromatic smell wafted through the air as Ana wandered lazily towards the kitchen, desperate to see what was cooking. Boy she was hungry! Thin, delicious noodles served with tiny chicken pieces and colourful boiled vegetables was lade out on an elegant bowl, Chow Mein- her favourite. To her immense disappointment, Sammy was carefully walking down the soft carpeted steps and came into the kitchen. "Well, Well look who's peering nosily down at the noodles," Sammy teased. "Stop it or I'll scream you-" "If you dare scream I'll break your mouth little girl!" her mother yelled. Suddenly something snapped inside Ana. Rage gushed through her like volcano ashes. "WHO ARE YOU TO SCREAM AT ME LIKE THAT! YOU AREN'T MY FAMILY!" she bellowed. Suddenly everything froze. The world began to waver like a television screen with no signal.Ana was becoming dizzier and dizzier until the world was swallowed by total blackness. |
