Hello!
I'm Panarchy and I have been a member of this board for a while, although very rarely going on it.
I have found something interesting though as I am just now rereading the series (for the first time rereading, this is my favourite series!), and I have found a mistake that probably no one, or very few people found, you know how
Maruman has only one eye? well on the last line of page 379 (orange binder, penguin edition), There is a sentence:
Maruman close his eyes
That's right, EYES!
Has anyone else found this in this book? Or am I the first!
:P
If this is a real mistake someone please email Isobelle Carmody telling her so that in future edition (reprints) of it, that mistake will be rectified!
Please read over this then reply to this topic,
Panarchy
PS: I will stay around on this board for a little longer mainly on this topic!

I read through the reference you gave and yes, it's a real mistake, and I imagine one that could very easily be made. It couldn't be easy for both writer and editor to always be on the look out for 'eye', since it's such an automatic response. So much so that I would never have noticed this if you hadn't pointed it out ;) Plus, I think there are bigger things to worry about ;) Such as Elspeth talking about how she saved Jik and Kella from the cloister in Sutrium... even though that was really in Aborium during The Farseekers.
Wow... I didn't notice that thing!
But anyways, I noticed that it was a very small and petty thing to notice which would of been easily missed!
But still, I found that it was pretty cool that I had found a mistake in one of the obernewtyn chronicles! In the past, I haven't found any mistakes in the obernewtyn chronicles. I have found many mistakes in other series, just no the obernewtyn chronicles!
I guess no one is perfect... :|
PS: OFFTOPIC: It seems that you like early morning and I like late nights, LOL
Thanks for the link! Checking out the link now...
Cool!
Oh... I just remember another mistake with the book... OOPS! Forgot it again... Damn it! Don't you hate it when that happens?
Anyways... if I remember it I will say so on this topic ;)
i have lots and lots of mistakes that i found! i think it might be because in the time after the great white, they lost bit of the proper language aswell! but there is like 20 mistakes throught the series!

I have found mistakes but honestly, why should a talented writer be yelled at for making small mistakes. Sometimes it's hard to note everything that you've said. So really I'm just glad she remembered the names. And as long as there not huge mistake like saying she had light brown hair and then black then I won't make a fus over it.

My favourite is in the older editions of TKP. It seems Isobelle forgot that Dameon can't see things in his dreams but still told us exactly that in the same book :P It was fixed in later editions though.

My mistake that I found it in TSK, where elspeth went to visit the stone memorial pillar in the white valley, where in TKP it clearly states that the pillar is made of fine grained wood.
hey, im new so i dont know if anyone else has picked this up but...
in the farseekers, when elspeth and co are picked up by the druids men, and also when she is in the camp, the druid's people refer to her as elspeth even though she gives her gypsy name of elaria (which we know from gilbert later in the stone key!)
goes for at least 5 to 10 pages, and not once is she referred to as elaria. tis rather a long error.
has anyone else noticed this?
