Hello again.

I checked the first few pages to see if there was another thread like this and couldn't find one, so please excuse me if there is in fact another one somewhere along the way.

The purpose of this thread is to have a compiled list of the editing oversights that might have cropped up somewhere in the book.

Please only post simple errors that are easily fixed for later editions.

- This may be a deliberately oblique reference, but from memory it was Alexi performing the torture. The pronoun he may also intentionally be an oblique reference to an unnamed character (Alexi)

Page 443 para 2 [Continuity]
Atthis had warned me that there would be a price to pay for saving Rushton, and I had agreed to pay it. I would pay it again
- Not strictly speaking an error, but it made me LOL. As long as Elspeth is paying with someone else's life she is happy to pay it again! Seems a bit callous :P

'Greetings ElspethInnle,' Sendari sent.
- In Ashling, Elspeth is unable to communicate with Sendari directly and must communicate with him through Galthla

I think you may have misinterpreted this line. I thought she was referring to the impacts of Atthis's death, that there were impacts yet to be felt. Literally that the price would continue to be paid in the future.

Don't know the page number for this one, but I noticed it this morning, it's near the beginning.

Continuity
Elspeth notes that she doesn't know how Gavyn/Rasial communicate, as Gavyn doesn't have any beastspeaking powers. However, when we first meet him, Gavyn does indeed have beast speaking powers.

In an earlier section of text, Elspeth states that since the cord bound her to Rushton, it must lead her to him. This implies his presence where she ends up after following it.

Aren't the Druid's people rebels? This makes sense to me.

Sorry, but I think you've noted the wrong part here. In the first clause, the verb that gives tense is watched. In this case, Elspeth is saying, "I watched this happen, and then this other thing happened," which makes sense.

I think this one makes sense if you think of "on" as meaning "above" or "upon".

I'm very happy to be corrected, but I think this one is the correct tense too. How about if you think of it as "It was better he past-tense-verbed than past-tense-verbed."?

From some handy website that Google presented to me:

When the subject of a sentence is composed of two or more nouns or pronouns connected by and, use a plural verb.

Edit: somehow replaced a [/b] with a [/d]. I am king of bbcode :(. Also, "Elspeth is say"? I do not English D:

Hubby and I noticed that in one of the books maybe the Keeping Place, Maruman is referred to as being female but in others male. I don't have the books, so I can't give the exact reference but did anyone else notice it?
