Ok, so it's 10pm on the 28th my time, which means it's the evening of the 29th in Aus, and therefore the last day of OberNoWriSu. My Word document that I designated for February's writing is up to 17,000 words - and I've got more from my characters talking to me in my head that they refuse to allow me to type out. Some of it is too personal for them, and some of it is just too abstract and unformed - and then more of it likes to run away and hide whenever I get anywhere near my computer or my OberNoWriSu notebook that I was using in January. It's also kinda frustrating (and mildly amusing) how certain of my cast members have managed to insinuate themselves into my real life, like how I just realized that one of my characters shares a name and birthdate with a real-life acquaintance who I met after my girls had already been formed, and another character is absorbing elements of my landlady's personality - which works out fine as we're friends and they had similar careers and external defining factors before I started living here, so the personality absorption is sorta natural with my story-luck. No, the part that is bugging the heck out of me is my now-ex.... who was supposed to be one of my characters when I started writing, because he was a coworker of my friend Shanae (who is Emily) at the time, but he's now kinda skipped over to a role better suited to a different character who I was very specific at the time of writing that it was NOT him, but now I guess the story-world laws had something else in mind. Maybe Paul skipped out into the real world and decided to mess things up in my actual life. LOL. But in all fairness, I had a good time writing - and I might work on this some more next year if we do it again. I'll try to spend tomorrow (my 29th of Feb) editing my January writing into novel form from script form, since it's still technically within the bounds of OberNoWriSu even if the fact that the name's use of Australian seasons implies an Australian clock/calendar limit so that tonight is the official end. And I definitely intend to keep writing on this story during the other 3 seasons of the year, as I don't think Julia, Andrea, Paul, Alyssa, Emily, and the rest of the cast are going to let me peacefully ignore them anytime soon.
Glad you had fun Tiffany! That Paul of yours is certainly a trouble maker, but I loved reading about him. Thanks for posting your snippets.
And well done with the 17000 words for Feb, too!
