The constellation that makes them sad is Pavo. Obviously it reminds them of their lost friend. What cheers them up is seeing that a constellation named for him immortalises him forever. Personally, I'd be more happy seeing his constellation not only has a great pad. (Look at all that space around him and how squished everyone else is!) And not only that, look at all the females in the sky with him... Gemini, Virgo, Norma, Pegasus. That constellation has a harem!

The constellation leaving the Misfits feeling sad is Pavo :(. I have absolutely no idea what might cheer them up a bit. Grasping futilely at straws, this link indicates Pavo is highest in the sky and most visible during September, which is the first month of our Moonfair. So it's as if he will be watching over them, even though he's gone.

I found

And we Misfits get sad because Pavo died from the rotting sickness while helping Elspeth and the other Misfits when they went to Sutrium. :'(

The Misfits might feel better about this constellation when they realise that Pavo is in a sense 'watching over them', seeing everything, having nothing hidden from him in a sense. This is of course something any knowledge seeker would love.

Special Constellation:
It's Pavo of course, a beloved misfit who sadly died at the end of Farseekers. His death makes the misfits sad, as do all the deaths of close friends but Pavo still lives on in all of them and they're always reminded of his good-nature through the healing machine, "PAVO".

The special constellation is Pavo, which shares a name with a former Guildmaster of the Teknoguild who passed away due to rotting sickness. It might help the Misfits feel less sad if they thought of the constellation as a salute, an eternal memory, of their friend. Perhaps the Teknoguild could create a monument in the Caves that included the constellation so that they felt Pavo was still with them during all their excavating and researching.
