Since I've been feeling inspired lately, I decided to participate in OberNoWriWin, aiming for 5K words before the end of July! My chosen novel is a fanfiction about Ariel discovering an abandoned Beforetime machine, and after testing it out, finds himself in a strange land that he eventually realizes is the Beforetime. I don't have a title yet, but I'm working on it, and suggestions are welcome! I'm hoping I can complete the first chapter in the next few days.
As of June 14th, 2013, my word count is 642/5000.
:) Good start with your word count, Sunny :D I can't wait to maybe read a bit at some point? [act]hint hint[/act]

Good work, Sunny! You're on a roll :) - you'll be needing to up that word count!
A very interesting start. I can well imagine Ariel coercing a maid to do his bidding :). Keep it up!
So I did a little work on Chapter 2, which is currently at 159 words. For absolutely no reason, here is an excerpt from the chapter! (Note: Excerpt is subject to change and will not necessarily appear in the finished chapter.)
I haven't wandered onto Blacklands, but the territory's entirely unfamiliar and without a single clue of which way I came from. Even my footprints are gone, washed away in the mud. Days of Rain. Lud curse them.
Unsure which way to proceed, I just stay where I am for a moment. I have to flick my hair from my face a few times when the rain forces dripping locks over my eyes. I knew I shouldn't have started growing it out.

I seem to be working through this quickly... I may consider upping my goal to 10K.
Ariel grumbling about his hairstyle - that makes me giggle for some reason :).
Good to have someone as enthusiastic as you onboard, Sunny. Might whip all of the rest of us into some sort of action!

Ooh, I must agree with Darga about the humour in Ariel's hairstyle ;) Love it. Brilliant word count so far!
Thanks so much for all your support! :D Checking in one last time before I go to bed, Chapter 2 now contains 337 words.
As of June 14th, 2013, my word count is 1281/5000.
Good night!
At this rate you may have to up your word count :D
But I have to disagree with Ariel about his hair--growing it out is very good idea because he has to stand around with it blowing in the wind all dramatically :nods:
Writing's a bit harder today, and a shopping trip stole a lot of time, but I'm happy to say I made some progress :) I don't think Chapter 2's far off from completion (705 words and counting), and maybe I can get a little more done tonight!
As of June 15th, 2013, my word count is 1649/5000.
It's been another (relatively) busy writing day today! Chapter 2 hit 1218 words, and I'm hoping to finish and post it either tomorrow or Tuesday. :)
As of June 16th, 2013, my word count is 2162/5000 (almost half!!)
Doing very well, Sunny! Keep it up :).
At this rate you'll be finished before the month is over :D
Oh that was very nicely done! You're making Ariel far more human than I've ever given him credit for being. I almost feel sorry for him. Loved the reference to Selmar, too, and very cool how the Beforetime girls somehow managed to get a glimpse of Ariel, too.
Keep it coming :). And congratulations on your word count.
Ooh, I loved that! It'll be interesting to hear the price Ariel's got to pay his saviour. Keep the words flowing, Sunny :D
I've been falling a little behind :( School, social life and just plain procrastination all play a part. But I made a small amount of headway on Chapter 3 and will try to get more done today.
As of June 19th, 2013, my word count is 2500/5000 (exactly half!!)
Wow, you're well into your goal. I'm thinking you will be extending that :D I can't wait to read more!
You are so not falling behind Sunny! You are doing exceptionally well! Half way through your goal already, you could finish the whole story by the end of August! Well done!
definitely not falling behind :). We're only 2/3 through June, after all - long way to go till the end of OberNoWriWin :).
Nice work Sunny, do you know about how long you want the story to be?
