I'm not sure which is the right place to post this question, so I am posting it here.
How long does it take you to read each of the Obernewtyn Chronicles?
How long does it take you to read through the whole saga back to back?
And if you've read these books more than once then what is your longest/shortest time on record?
(and were there any mitigating circumstances to explain the discrepancies)

Thats an interesting question or questions.
The OC's took me a few days to get through each of them (3-4 days approx), except for TSK because i was flat out at work when it was released and was to tired to read when I got home.
When I read the whole series in the lead up to TSK launch, it took me about two weeks, between work and other commitments.
Books I enjoy reading take me (depending on size) anywhere from one day to four days. Books I dont like so much can take me months, and books i dislike, I never finish :P (that includes ones i should have studied at school).
For TSk I pretty much crammed it into one night, staying up til like 2 in the morn to finish because once I started I really, really couldn't put it down. But I rushed thorugh it than over the next few days, i read some bits more slowly (whilst theories were flying around in my head)

1 night :O
wow...
I think it took me a week as I had lots of lectures to go to and homework to do...
Obernewtyn and Farseekers take me 1 day (for both) if I'm not busy or 2 days (each) if I am. Ashling usually is 1 - 3 days and TKP 2-4 (though I think I once started it when during exams and it took me much longer). Not read TSK a second time so not really sure how long it would take me if I was totally free to commit to it.
I tried to break TSK up over a few days to savour it but read it in 3 nights
but i took heaps of breaks because the size of the book was killing my wrists.
I can read most of the others in a day... TKP maybe 2
Hehe good question!! I can read all of them except for TKP and TSK in a night/half a day- in the lead up to TSK coming out I read them all again in a week... but TSK took me 2 night to get through (when I say nights, I mean from when I get home from work around 6ish till about 2-3 in the morning- reading basically non stop except to get food haha)
If I am loving a book I will sit down and read it non stop, as I did with the HP and Twilight series, The Host, and tried to do with TSK :P
But I'm often reading more than one book as well-- and the ones that don't hold my interest tend to get thrown to the side when I favour new books I get... Poor Mists of Avalon- I've been reading that for about 3 months now :-/ lol
I'm the same. When I get a book that I like, I read it non-stop until I am finished. That's why none of my friends will take me into book shops anymore. The last time some one left me unsupervised in a book shop, I found a book that I really liked and sat down to read it. It took them 3 hours to drag me away... and only with the promise that we would go to a library the next day and borrow it. ~:|
Books that I don't like, I usually just give up on. Sometimes I skim read them, or skip through the book so that I get an idea of the story.
I'm very selective in my choice of reading material. First I look at the cover, the name, the author, the blurb... Then I read the first section to see if the writing style is good. Then I read a page at random to see if it's good all of the way through. If it passes all of these tests, then I start reading it. If it has failed to capture my attention after about the first 5 chapters, I usually discard it or just skim through it.
I read TSK in 4 days, because I had lots of work due in at the time and I was getting a little stressed out. The other books all took me about a day, but TKP took me 2 days.

obernewtyn and farseekers I can read in one day and still have time to start Ashling if im not busy but if i am busy then just the first 2, Ashling i can read in abut half a day to a full day depending on how busy i am.TKP a day and I was so into TSK that it took me a day cause i just couldn't put it down.when I really enjoy a book i read it very fast and when i am fineshed i get kida sad that it done.so all in all it takes me about 4 to 5 days to read the whole series.
well when TSK came out i read it in a day- i tend to do that with books i get hyped up about :P i've re-read it another two times now (well im currently re-reading it for the second time now- and more slowly- cause of exams and i've since read two other books as well but anyway)
as for the others, im not sure how long it takes me, obernewtyn would take me about an afternoon, and the others...well i dont know...it just depends on how much time i've got, and how long it is since i've read them (ie. so long that i've forgotten the plot (which doesn't happen much with the ober chrons lol) or if im re-reading for the little intricacies which can be missed on a quick read)...i tend to read books quickly though, just continue reading them till i've finished, im not very good at self-control ::)
Obernewtyn and Farseekers and Ashling= 1 day
The Keeping Place= 1 day, because it's a bit dry.
The Stone Key= half a day, because it's much bigger than it looks and much easier to read... when it's released in the Aformat like the other's it'll probably be around the size of Ashling. lol.
Obernewtyn: 2 Hours
The Farseekers: 2 Weeks.. |:(
Ashling: 3 days
TKP: Currently taking 4 days and im only up to.. pg 304 Im ashamed of my slow reading!
it took me about 7 hours to read the stone key...
and the others just take a bout 5 hours max ;D
I don't really take notice of the hours that go by while I read. I stop when I either lose interest or need food XP
Or if it's a real good book I have to make myself take breaks, to savour it.
I got stuck into Ashling, read it in a day ~:|
It took me the majority of two days to read TKP
I think it took me about three days to read TSK, but I have no clue how long Obernewtyn + The Farseekers took me.
Well I read the whol series back to back and found it took me maybe a week and half..if not less :-/ Sometimes I can get a book down in a day or in one case 2 hours. So it all depends on how much I am into the book and what happens. I too always seem to be in the middle of up to 6 books sometimes with others in the reserve.

wells... the first time i read the series i had all of the books at once.. well, at the time only obernewty, the farseekers and ashling was actually out, so it was only those three :P
anyways, those three books took me 2 days to read.. it took me a day to read obernewtyn and the farseekers and then another day to read ashling... but i could be a few days off because it was so long ago :P
when the Keeping Place came out and i was able to get a hold of it it took me a day and a half to read because a) it was rather large and b) because i found it on a school day and i didn't have much time to read it :P
when the stone key came out it took me a day to read... so i supose all up it took me 4.5 days to read all up...
i always have time to read- I just make time and shuffle homework around and read, read and more reading. I think TSK took me a few days the TKP got boring at one part so I left it for nearly a month ~:|
wow you guys are fast readers. to read the whole series it probably takes metwo to three weeks. Perhaps this is my way of savouring the experience?

I remember when I first read Farseekers (yes...I stupidly read book 2 before book 1), I did it in a night and took it back to the library the next day to look for more (specifically, book 1 :P ). Obernewtyn I remember reading in the space of 3 hours. Ashling, don't know. TKP was a whole 24-hours straight, the day it came out...and TSK? I had to keep stopping and starting, thanks to work :P so I couldn't really say...
I agree about savouring the experience Miky :) but I'm usually so excited the first read through, at least for the latter books, I have to tell myself to compute the words instead of letting my brain think about the theories behind them :P I remember having to go back over paragraphs of TSK because I'd let my mind go off on a tangent about something that had just happened, and realised I hadn't been properly reading. So the savouring the experience...is the re-read :P
I can probably read them all within the space of a week but it depends on what im doing in that week... :)
it doesnt take me long, i read Obernewtyn and The Farseekers in 6 hours last night 8-| :D
The first time I read TSK it took me about a week; reading in between classes (and durring |:|) and durring breaks, as well as on the bus and whenever I could sneek it at home.
Obernewtyn and Farseekers I could easily finish in a day.
Well over all it takes me about two days to read all the books back to back... and thats a school two days.... though i do admit i stay up til 4 in the morning and dont do homework so it mite be a bit different if that wasnt the case
I just did my annual re-read of the series, and it took me just under 2 weeks - done in between entertaining two young boys, while cooking dinner, and after the kids are in bed! Poor children are sadly neglected when I get engrossed in a book :)

I've just reread the first four, and it took me a day for each. It did obviously take me longer to read the thicker books, but I think I read faster the thicker the book. I noticed during my last rereading of the Harry Potter books that it took me the same amount of hours to read the first one, and the fourth one, so it's also possible that I unconsciously moderate my reading speed depending. :-/
I just started The Stone Key before I went out to dinner tonight, and this'll be my first read of it. I've timed it badly because I have friends coming to stay tomorrow, so I won't be able to bury myself in the book. I'm guessing I won't finish it until my friends leave, which will be in about four days.
eh, I have to work etc. So i read on the train.
it can take me up to a month to read all 5.
but wehn i got the stone key i had it finished in about 3 days...i had to sleep and eat....
