What is publications class all about? Sounds interesting (well the word "publications" interests me anyway :P )
It's mainly looking into publishing writing and we get to do a lot of our own stuff. It's a new subject this year and it's really easy, but it's fun and it gives me time (and motivation) to write :) It's really good

New story is kind of [censored] at the moment, but I reckon I could make it into something good once I know exactly where it's going. To be honest it's actually very similar to my Laughing Girl story (the one with the weird herbs and stuff) so I've got to be careful to make it different enough, especially since it might be later entered into the same competition ~:|
My other project is actually going quite well for a first draft, and though I'm sure I'll be horrified when I later go to edit, I'm feeling pretty good about it.
And I'm just going to grin about my current word count for Autumn :D Feeling amazing about that.
You should be feeling amazing :). And I'm sure you'll manage to make your new story diverge from the first one. Looking forward to reading it.

Some days are just a slog. Good on you for doing more than 500 words, anyway! I think you posted once that as long as you do 500 words a day, you can produce something epic in not that much time at all :).
:'( Only 400 words so far and I've been trying for ages. I'm just not getting into this properly :/ Hopefully that'll improve soon. And I'm struggling with maintaining present tense >.< I keep switching back to past because that's what my other story is in.
I have so much work to do and no motivation to do any of it :(
I do that tense shift thing sometimes. My shorts are usually in past and my novels in present, so if I switch between them, I lose track. Don't worry about it. Can all be fixed later. And with the voice - sometimes you have days where the words just come easily, but a lot of the time you feel as if you're forcing it. Good news is that sometimes, those forced words actually come out sounding pretty good, simply because of the effort you've put in to write them. Of course, it's more fun to write when words are flowing freely...
I maintain that writing is a continual process of actually writing and then banging one's head against a wall. You are in bang head stage, but it always cycles back. Just keep plowing :D

Finally! A decent (ish) word count. 1020 words and I think I'm going to take a break. Maybe watch some Disney or something. I feel I'm at a point where I could write more, but I'll save that for later when I have trouble getting into it again. Perhaps I'll write more later today.
